When these shootings happen at public schools, a proposed solution was to arm teachers/principals. When it happened at colleges/universities, the proposed solution was to arm students and professors. Logically, this event should lead to the same conclusion. All journalist will now carry a 9mm handgun on air, and the cameramen will carry a pistol in the camera like in the movie "True Lies".



Should be interesting to see it play out.

Hand guns will eventually be outlawed. They serve no purpose, ownership numbers keep falling and are now below 30% of the population and those owners are the bottom of the food chain. It's just a matter of time.

Reducing/control guns on the market will do nothing to prevent these. I'm not saying that gun control is perfect, but this guy would have passed a background check. Sometimes stuff like this happens. Last I checked, there have been violent murders like this all through out history. I imagine that back in the days of stoning, there were more per capital murder than there is now. I don't know though.

Point is, it wasn't the weapon that is the problem....it is the person.

Terrible terrible situation and even more sickening is people trying to politicize it 5 minutes after it happened.

Not really. I'm for a combination of 2 and 3. I just don't think that 2 would have made a difference in this case. Especially since the killer didn't mind if he ended up dead himself.

Go to any gun shop in Oklahoma on a Saturday and see how many new people are taking classes and getting their licenses every week

OUHoops agrees to create an off-topic board, and even modifies the rules to give you guys who like to talk smack a little more room to play around, and hopefully have fun. But, every time I visit this board, I see more name calling than sensible conversations where the goal is to make your case in the best way possible. The biggest perpetrator of them all is the poster who promised me by PM not long ago that he would do a better job of controlling his urge to call people names. Do I need to say more, Boca?

Here's the deal, guys. Find a way to carry on discussions about politics, gun control and other controversial and potentially volatile topics without the personal insults, or this board could disappear with the simple stroke of a keyboard key.
