I'm worried about our post defense the last two games . Teams could do what ever they wanted and our opponents fg% was sad.
After Texas is thought their bigs just played off the charts , we didn't play our best they played like lotto picks.
Now after some freshman took it to us , I'm worried teams have found a weakness.

A few times today our bigs were out of position, but I also wonder if they are worried about fouling out--especially since it happened recently to Spangler in the KState game.

A little of both, but mostly bad defense. The most important thing, I suppose, is that we were fortunate to come out with a win in both games.

Our posts are letting the opponents catch wayyyy too deep, and then not bothering to block out when a shot goes up.

OU has a strong front line. Thomas and Spangler are very good. Bennett and Lattin are solid bench players I wouldn't worry too much about the last two games.

I have a very poor opinion of Thomas' defense in most games.

Good Lordy. Tough crowd. Not pleased with thomas? Don't be worried. Lk said its good to have a game like this before the home stretch.

Most definitely the case at Tech but the way the officials were calling charging and the way the Tech bigs were forcing themselves inside it may have been difficult to keep them out of the paint without complicating things with foul trouble. I felt neither Spangler or Thomas were physically holding their own.

This right here. Their posts were kicking our butts on positioning all day. They were establishing position about 2 to 3 feet from the basket....and in most cases, it's church if they get the ball that low on the block. Don't know the reasoning why, but that is what was happening yesterday.

i feel like yesterday was a trap game to begin with, but i also agree with your point about them playing not to foul. i haven't watched a lot of opposing teams' games but in ou's games this year, the refs have been a joke, not just against ou but also the opposition. they've been very inconsistent from game to game and i think spangler/thomas/lattin were playing scared yesterday, not to mention spangler having possibly his worst game in an ou uniform.

Spangler and Thomas are good, just small... I bet Spangler measures about 6'6'' and Thomas is probably the same. Tech is bigger than OU up front.

Manderson is listed at 6'10'' 235 and Odiase is listed at 6'9'' 270. Spangler and Thomas are both listed at 6'8'' 235-240 but I just don't believe either are 6'8''.. 6'7'' max.

That being said, Thomas had a good game. Spangler really struggled.

This picture says it all... Spangler isn't big enough to bother someones shot around the rim... So if they catch it around the basket, probably going to score.

Not knocking Spangs... he is my favorite player on the team. But when OU plays teams that are bigger he is struggled a bit.
