When I was married to my first wife, she worked at TU in the admissions ofc from the mid 80's to the early 2000's. My oldest step daughter went to TU during this time. Her tuition and room and board was free. All we had to pay was text books/fees. I believe this is still the case.

So if Juwan wanted to go to TU he could go for free since his dad is a professor there.

It remained the case as far as a couple of years ago. Don't believe it has changed either.
 
Regular student versus student athlete.. it is different... Student does not get access to training table & all sorts of other perks the scholarship athlete gets... If he's going to play basketball & be a viable member of the team.. he's going to be on scholarship..
