Kruger and recruiting

I'm getting tired of this thread...... and the direction it has taken.

Of course we would be better off if we could recruit all Top 75 kids. Duh. Thanks for that insight, Captain Obvious. That's like saying I could raise my standard of living if I won the lottery. We could be even better if we could recruit all Top 10 kids. The problem is doing it. There are 351 Division 1 men's basketball teams in 32 conferences. Do the math. Divide 351 into 75 and there aren't many to go around.

What did OU have to sell to recruits when Lon Kruger was hired? The program was close to being in shambles. We were on 3 years of probation. Our last coaching staff had been fired. The previous staff had left under a dark cloud. Recruiting had hit rock bottom. What Top 75 recruit outside of our immediate area would even consider coming to OU? Oklahoma HS kids aren't exactly a recruiting hotbed.

What Kruger and his staff have done in the short time they've been here has been outstanding. Just getting a top kid to consider OU is a step in the right direction. They're getting in on more and more of the top kids, but they've also done a great job of finding sleepers, transfers, juco's, etc. We just need to be patient.
