The announcers said during the game (they even showed a video clip) that LK played six against our five starters in practice to get them ready for WVU's full court press. It obviously worked.

Think about how far this team has come in breaking the press. Now that they know how to do it, I'm hoping we never see a repeat of the game against WVU in Morgantown.

yeah, it's a huge turnaround. I think the team is unifying and learning from their bumps. I said earlier in the season that these early losses CAN make for a really tough team down the stretch, provided they LEARN from them.

I think they have learned from those losses and they got the wins to prove it.

That's good coaching. Teams used to do this to prepare for our high school press because we pressed the whole game as well. Also, Kruger went to 4 guards and one big down the stretch.

Cousins was especially good last night. His court vision was phenomenal. Most of his assists were off of long passes to a wide open guys way down court. I kept expecting him to pass it laterally to avoid the trap, but he kept looking down court. When you can find those guys, it just kills the heart of the defense. And he should of had 2 more assists. On passes from Cousins Thomas failed to convert what I thought would be an easy lay-up, and Booker missed a great look from 3 (at least thats how I remember it).

Yeah Booker took that 3 on a 2 on 1 break early in the shot clock with Lattin wide open under the basket. Lon quickly subbed for him after that and he never came back in the game.

That was one more lesson Booker (hopefully) learned the hard way. I jumped out of my chair screaming at the television when he took that shot. I'm sure his turnovers under pressure also had something to do with him watching the game from the bench to close out the game. But, I don't think it's any coincidence that his departure came within a minute or so of the three he took.

I looked at the recording today, and he took the shot at the 12:20 mark of the 2nd half with OU leading 47-37. WVU got the rebound and there was a foul at the other end at the 12:01 mark and a timeout (illegal pick on Booker who was trying to get back into the play …. but he was way off his man). Walker came in the game then for Booker and stayed on the floor until the subs came in with less than a minute to play.

I agree that Kruger was sending him a message ….. and I'm sure it's been pointed out in the film sessions. I think he has been trying to play good defense, but looks out of sorts in the offense. His ball handling is shaky at best.
