@CodyStavenhagen: Trae Young: "I didn't do very well tonight. I played terrible. I blame a lot of this loss on me, if not all of it."

@CodyStavenhagen: "That's not me, that's not how I play, and that's not how I'm gonna play for the rest of the league." #Sooners

He’s flying too close to the sun.

Not just this game, all conference season.

Need to take the load off him a bit.

McGusty needs to start getting more involved. I feel like he is an integral piece in making the next step.

Definitely need a couple of other players to step up and allow us to go to them for play other than shooting spot up treys. Need to be able to penetrate and shoot pull up jumpers or get to the rim and finish which we presently do not do with any consistency.

But first we need to play top quality defense. No defensive consistency of late. No one wants to get consistently tough as a defender and stay that way. You do not win games consistently unless you get stops. No stops no runs. No runs and you out score no one.

I totally agree. Our D has been really bad the last two games. I thought we had turned the corner against Tech but alas....it has to get better if this team is going to continue to improve.

I agree completely. The D against TCU wasn't good and last night it was beyond atrocious. Some of those players need to take a good, hard look in the mirror and decide how good they want this team to be because it absolutely won't reach its potential if 4-5 of them don't start carrying their weight on the defensive end.

I'm glad, on the one hand, that Trae is willing to step up and lead like he is but I'm beginning to wonder if it's also allowing others to avoid accountability, particularly on the defensive end. Hopefully they're being held accountable in the locker room and at practices. At least it's showing up in McGusty's playing time.

If they play Saturday the way they played last night, OSU will beat them convincingly.

I like everyone love Lon's coaching style. But does he ever get into them? How can such a lack of defensive effort, competency, or whatever it is be allowed to persist? Blows my mind.

His style is to be positive. He has proven it works for him. They will learn from this game.

Not his style. He does get into them If you have to do it in games, its too late.

Obviously, we have a ways to go but we all knew going to KSU is tough.. Our final 4 team finished 3rd in Conf.

I sat five rows behind the bench last night and watched the huddles closely, which I do at all game that I attend. Lon doesn't yell or do things that are as noticeable as most coaches, but he absolutely does get into them and challenge them during timeouts. He does it in a way that the cameras don't usually pick up, but if you watch him closely, you'll notice it. And I have heard the players say that even though he doesn't scream and cuss at them, it is very clear to them when he is upset. I could never be as outwardly calm as Lon lol, but it seems to work for him.

Nobody is more intense than Lon.

Everybody had a bad game except Rashard. Too many of our guys need to be making shots to have a positive outcome on the game. We also were just pushed around by KSU. Manek and Lattin have to play stronger down low.

I would like to see Shepherd and Trae play together and get Trae off the ball at least some of the time but Shepherd has really struggled.

I hope Shepherd finds his game as the year goes along.

Yes to all of this! This game reminds me of OUFball’s game against ISU this year, only it was on the road. We are better than these guys, but we played without passion, want to, and we were soft. Hopefully this loss is a spark for OUr boys, like the ISU loss was for the Football team.

He owned it. Now move on to Saturday... Which Ill have my team of 30 there... Thanks OSU athletic dept!

The one thing I really don't understand or like about our D...we helped every time the ball went in by a pass or drive...like we dropped 3 guys to defend. I just don't get it. If ya can't expect a guy to defend 1/1 in the post we need new guys.

Totally agree others NEED to step up. I know TY had a ton of TO's..and I was critical, does it count against him if like he passes to McNeace and it goes off his hands?

he NEEDS help.

Last night only saw Odomes playing with any passion.

BTW, smu just beat wsu in Wichita
