Jacob Pullen and Curtis Kelly of No. 11 Kansas State have been shelved for receiving impermissible benefits, according to Jeff Goodman of Fox Sports. Goodman reports that Pullen will miss three games and the two received purchased clothing from a department store -- likely a secondary violation of NCAA rules.

No further details are available at this point.

The news comes less than an hour before K-State (9-2) is set to tip off against UNLV Tuesday night.

Pullen is universally regarded as the Wildcats' best player while Kelly is also very important. Pullen averages 16.5 points, 3.8 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game. Kelly averages 10.3 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.

So I can't figure it out, are kids doing this more now, or are they just finally enforcing the rules?

Another option is that they are bragging about things on Facebook and twitter etc. That would make it fairly easy for the NCAA to enforce the rules.

They lead UNLV in the 2nd half of that game. If they win this one that's a really impressive win without 26 points in your lineup.

I never root for KSU obviously, but this major choke job of a season is not good for the league. The better the league does in the non-conference the better it helps all of us. KSU has look bad with those two guys...without them will be interesting.

Cheating goes on at every school, all the top programs "bend" the rules.

Top programs? We're talking about KSU. LOL
Stuff like this goes on at every D1 program in the country. It's impossible to stop. Really it goes back to the players being smart and keeping their mouths shut.

Very excellent point Ms. Proud. I hadn't thought about that

Sportscenter just showed the post game press conference and Frank Martin was BENT!!!!!!

At least his anger was at the right place. Im going to try to find that video on espn.com

Martin said very few words but just by the look he had shows how pissed he is at Pullen and Kelly. It wouldn't shock me if he booted both of them after watching that lol.

No he won't boot them but he wil make life hard on them for a few weeks. Franks a big softie so he'd never take a kids chance away after 1 mistake especially something as small as this.

I agree especially about Pullen. Kelly started out the year suspended for not practicing hard so this is his 2nd suspension.
KSU really just isn't that good. That's why I scoffed at them being top 4 and picked to win the league. They just don't have that much talent and they really don't have many guys that can score.
