I suspect that if Maddie wanted to be a scorer, she might be our leading scorer. She is pretty accurate, still two of two behind the arc. I'm not sure. Has she ever missed a three in a real game? She was one of one two years ago, two of two in the first game (exhibition?). I think Maddie is geared to be a Stacey Dales type, and she is looking to see where everyone is. She has passed up some outside shots. She seems to be looking to dish most of the time. I wonder if we'll see a different Maddie once everyone begins to define their respective roles?

She made a couple of outstanding plays that were all but impossible last night. Both cases involved a bad pass to her, one out of bounds, which she turned into assists. It's one thing to have the agility to save a turnover. It is another to be able to do something constructive with it when you save it.

Maddie looks tentative to me. Just not sure if it's physical or mental. She's also wearing a pretty big brace on her knee and I don't think she did last year when began the year. Also, last year I couldn't detect any issues with regards to movement, speed, etc. She seemed to be playing just as hard as she did the previous year before being injured. I'm sure it's a little of both. Hope things smooth out for her!

First off the bench, to me, would be who needs replaced and what the other team has.......all things equal, until and if Maddie is back to pre acl tears, I would take Derica. She just doesn't seem to make the mistakes and plays good defense and she can score. I know I am stuck on Derica and I could be wrong, time will tell.

I like Derica shooting threes, taking care of the ball, playing good D, etc.

I just don't know if she is capable of dribble drive penetration and she will need to add that to her game to be a more effective offensive player. An offensive player who is one dimensional is easy to guard. Her dad said she can but we still haven't seen that yet.

But, she can still be a good spot up shooter and every team can use those players to give the offense a boost.
