How much of a factor is it in recruiting that a player comes from a larger school versus a smaller school? With AAU and summer competition, does it really matter what size school a player attends during the year?
I think most coaches prefer players from larger schools but, with AAU competition, I think coaches can still evaluate them. If I'm not mistaken, Tatum is from a smaller school and several big time schools seem to like what they see.
I think there definitely used to be a bias toward players from larger schools. But these days, if they play on an active AAU team, it's easier to evaluate the talent of the girls who went to smaller schools.
