It would benefit the Sooners if he weren't winning the league every year at Kansas!

I will say that my cousin, a relatively connected KU alum, told me earlier this year that it would be Self's last year and he was headed to the pros. Granted, I told him he was crazy, but who knows?

Wouldn't surprise me. Self would be the ideal candidate as the Thunder's head coach. Winning Big 12 titles can't possibly be as exciting to him now as it used to be.

Take the job, Bill! Quit wasting your talent and your youth on coaching at the college level.

I'd rather the Thunder take Hoiberg, honestly. KU will still be good when Self leaves. They'll hire some other great coach. ISU will miss Hoiberg much more because coaches won't be lining up to go to Ames.

Why would Self leave Kansas? He's not going to get that much of a raise (if any at all), it's going to come at the expense of his job security, and he's not going to enjoy the talent gap he currently does. If Self goes to OKC, KD and/or Westbrook will soon bolt, and he'll be fired in less than 5 years. At that point he'll come crawling back to the NCAA, and he'll end up with a worse job than he started with.

True and a bunch of them have still done it. They want to coach the best even though they don't listen to you. Tiger Woods didn't play the nationwide tour or whatever it is.
