LNC court makeover

You can plainly see the backs of these seats are red like ALL the other seats (except the temps on the bottom). You can plainly see the cushions on these seats.

You can also plainly see who attends the games at LNC and who doesn't!

soo but if that if your proof it isn't much. I can't plainly see the backs of the cushioned seats. If anyone can from those pics, you must have a lot better vision than me

If you are referring to the seats at the very bottom of the picture in the upper bowl, that isnt what big and I are talking about

I don't know what to tell you then.

And you are not in the business of running the economic aspect of a college basketball program. You have no concrete data supporting your assumption that the LNC capacity needs to be reduced by 20-33%. We need to all display a little patience and wait until it is announced what the university will do to LNC. Joe C. will make a through analysis of our basketball facility and make a solid recommendation when the analysis and funding plan is complete.

Making any significant reduction in LNC seating capacity is enconomic lunacy. Most likely is a renovation of LNC that will focus on fan amenities that will enhance the game experience. Their approach for LNC will be very similar to the plan they are implementing for Gaylord Family Memorial Stadium.

I would expect this to result in some minor reduction (1,000-1,500) in capacity with the introduction of more quality seating and 12-20 suites, more and better restrooms and concessions at a cost in the $125-175 million.

A renovated LNC might add 500-1,000 butts in the seats for a year or two but long term the only thing that impacts attendance is winning. I've had seat in LNC since it opened and when we have really good teams and attendance LNC can be a very intimidating place to play.

The reality is when you are not winning attendance will wane. Listen to the Thunder fans complain about Scott Brooks because he cannot win it all. Let the Thunder win only 40-45 games a year instead of 55-60 games and there will be thousands of no shows and a loss of hundreds of season ticket sales.

As disappointing as the attendance at games is today Kruger is putting a better product on the court and attendance is moving upward. It is now better than the WBB attendance and that was not the case 4-6 years ago. Back to back S16 teams is the best cure for poor attendance

I went to every game during Blake's sophomore season, and we still didn't fill up the joint for the majority of games, despite the fact that our program appeared to be trending upward to new heights: elite team with the best player in the country on it, and an elite recruiting class coming in the next year, and a coach that everyone was worried was going to get poached by a truly elite program.

A 9,000 or so seat arena would be perfect, and when the team was really good and someone like Kansas was coming in, the tickets would be a truly hot commodity.

My 20 plus years of going to games tells me otherwise. I spent a great deal researching the topic when I started an attendance task force and had multiple meetings with the former coaching staff and marketing. I know more than you think on the subject.

Perhaps you have a better perspective than I of what will be the new LNC. We will know something regarding what Boren and Joe C. think in three or four years after their study is completed, funding determined and the renovations are underway.

In the meantime it is just idle internet chit-chat.

Agreed. My thoughts on them doing the right thing to fix the butts-in-the-seats- attendance are somewhere between not good and no way in stillwater.

Man, I hate to agree with Bounce, but there are a LOT of color blind people on this board.

Orange is not a shade of red. The seats are clearly orange.

I just looked through a bunch of pictures I have at the LNC. The cushions are crimson. The chairbacks are orange - like the rest of the seats. In proper lighting, it's obvious.

If I wasn't deathly scared of you all, I'd post the pics, but my kids (and some friends you'd recognize) were in them all.

These are red, not crimson, but red:

These are orange:

If you can't tell the difference between red and orange, that's not my problem!

they are dull scarlet, one shade on the orange side of red, crimson is in the opposite direction as it should be

Again, somebody take a box a crayons and get to the LNC! When does practice start back up? I'll message Gary

Much better perspective here, because the focal point isn't the orange seats but the entire arena. Also, all of the lights are on. Orange seats.

Because the red seats are up against the MAROON seats! Neither of these are crimson.

You can also see in the far right corner the original cushioned seats that are lighter than the MAROON folding seats that were added 8-10 years ago. Crimson is between the red seats and the original cushioned seat. Not even close to the MAROON folding seats.

Actually, the original cushioned seats are closest to OU crimson.

The real issue is the arena is an outdated dump and has been for several years, the outside is not much to talk about either......OU is just throwing away money until they make a major overhaul of this relic, or the sensible thing of taking a wrecking ball to it and putting it out of its misery.
