Lol @ Missouri getting schooled.

It's the Big 12 that is getting schooled in a little over 12 months no other conference has lost 1/3rd of it's teams. And I wouldn't be shocked if more leave.

Absolutely! This thread is .................., well, it doesn't deserve recognition.

I don't know how many are old enough to remember a very silly piece of fluff called Monty Python's Search for the Holy Grail. Since I have never liked silly as an entertainment type, including not being one of the faithful who read Brothers Grimm and watched the Mickey Mouse Club, I barely remember a part of the Search for the Holy Grail in which Arthur encounters The Black Knight. It is on you tube for your entertainment if you happy to feel silly or get a little high. The Black Knight refuses to step aside and let Arthur pass, resulting in a fight with swords. Arthur cuts off The Black Knight's left arm, but he won't surrender saying it is only a flesh wound. Then, he cuts off The Black Knight's right arm, but the Black Knight kicks him. After he cuts off both of The Black Knight's legs, the stump still insists that the fight is a draw. When Arthur ignores him and goes around him, he insists that Arthur is afraid to come back and fight. It is meant to be silly, an indication of how stupid people can be when they have been defeated. The refuse to admit defeat.

Right now, the Big Twelve is missing the left arm. The right arm will be gone if Missouri leaves. Yet, there are those who will insist, as did The Black Knight, that he is still a strong and superior adversary.

To what?

Every football program in the Big XII outside of OU and TX is pure garbage. This is not a recipe for success. Why would national viewers want to watch any confernce game outside of OU-TX in the future, once OSU returns to their historical mediocrity after this season.

I don't think they will, too much talent in Texas for them to fall back.

Syba,

President Boren thinks the league will be fine, and there are many schools who can replace them. They have 3-4 great options and we will know something in a week to 10 days, per Boren

You have OU and tx ovbiously at the top.
And if mizzou leaves we are left with crap with ISU,KState,KU,Tech, baylor, & osu.

Thats not a good league. BUT by adding in a florida team, a big program like Louisville, BYU, and WV, I think it would still be the 3r best conference

People like to ***** about how the competition is going to greatly drop with the departure of nebraska, mizzou, colorado, and A&M. Nebraska yes, but they others? Go look at our winning percentage against them compared to the ones left in the conference. Not much difference besides nebraska. We rarely lose, period. We never lose at home and everyonce in a while a team will beat us on the road. That won't change. And some of the teams that people are complaining about adding have beat us in football recently. BYU beat us. WVU beat us. Cincinatti nearly beat us.

Yep.

And I know basketball takes a backseat to football, but adding these teams in place of what we're losing makes this a MUCH tougher basketball conference. CU sucked. NU sucked. aTm and Mizzou were solid. Louisville is a top 10 program. Cincy is typically tough. BYU is normally solid. WV has been solid.

If this is what actually happens, Lon better get it done on the recruiting trail or OU is going to fall behind quickly. Louisville always brings in talent, Cincy and WV have talent but they're more physical than anything...they can grind you out.

Will be interesting to see how those BE teams adapt to the Big XII style of play, even though conference season is much more physical than the non-conference, the BE lets their teams beat the hell out of each other. Big XII is much more tightly officiated.

Boren would say that if the reverse were true. He is, first and foremost, a politician.
