I know that several people have been on our ladies very hard for how they looked in the Big 12 Tourney. My wife, who is not a basketball fan, made a comment that I agree with. Here is her statement "With only seven girls who can really plan and so many injured, the season sure has taken it's toll on them. She went on to say, they just looked tired and wore out."

Last night as we were watching the game, replay because we were at church during the game, she said she heard they didn't get to bed until 3:00 a.m. after such a hard game against WV.

Guys, I don't think we should get to upset about the Big 12, a few days off with rest will help a lot. I do believe the Sherri has got to recruit numbers, she can't just carry 10 to 12 girls on this team. I watch other teams and they have a full bench while Sherri has always carried under the numbers.

They will be in the Big Dance and they will win the first round but after that who knows.

I agree with everything you said. I'm not upset losing to ISU, they are just a better team than we are right now. We virtually had no chance against Baylor anyway so I don't see that loss as disappointing or unexpected.

There is no reason not to have 13 or 14 players on a roster. Hopefully, Sherri agrees and signs enough really good players that we can rotate players throughout the season next year and beyond.

Something that I've been wondering and I know this doesn't have anything to do with the long season. Seeing as we have almost two weeks until the tourney begins why the rush to get these games played. Had we won yesterday we'd have played three games in two days. With the games going so late Saturday why not at least wait until Sunday night. It's not like it would have hurt attendance. Just a thought.

Playing in Dallas most likely had something to do with the scheduling of the arena so they were forced to play all the games in three days. I think if we had two additional teams it would help all the teams but not sure of that.

I wonder if the fact that they were bound and determined to separate the men's and women's tournaments had anything to do with scheduling. I'm sure the schools wouldn't have wanted the tournaments to run concurrently in different states.

No, it's been like that for years. At one time they started a day earlier and took a day off in the middle, but it was really bad for attendance at the earlier games. It was hard for fans to take an extra day off work, and pay for an extra day's hotel, etc. So they changed it. One tournament in Dallas in the post-Stacy pre-Courtney years, we were seeded low enough that we had to play a first round game. We won four games in four days to win the tournament. No one else has ever done that.

As to playing the week before the men, yes that's so the administrators and AD support people can attend both tournaments. All the conferences do it that way. Up until this year, the Big 12 was disadvantaged getting a week's less rest than everyone else before the NCAA.
