Colorado rivals guy apparently talked to him and he said he is going to visit us.

This pleases me, a lot.

Abd I see there is a thread on their premium board talking about but I can't read it since I am not a Colorado premium member, can you give me your account info or provide with me the info ;) (jk buddy).

Here's a decent article on him, although it's a couple of months old:

Majok Majok has been a man on a mission thus far in 2010.

The Northfield Mount Hermon big man had a record setting performance in NMH’s big win over South Kent on January 9th as Majok gave his former team 19 points, 26 rebounds, and 5 blocked shots, setting a new school record for the most rebounds in a single game.

It was more of the same a night later as Vanier College had no answer for the man in the middle with Majok scoring 22 points on 11 of 12 shooting from the floor while collecting 10 rebounds and continuing to anchor the paint defensively with 5 more blocks.

Majok saw very limited minutes in a lopsided 91-49 bashing of Deerfield last Wednesday but went back to work Saturday with 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks in another Class A win over Worcester Academy.

This weekend we got a chance to catch up with the two people helping to guide Majok through the recruiting process: NMH head coach John Carroll and Majok’s longtime coach and advisor Ed Smith.

“He’s playing terrific right now and a lot of schools are stepping up their interest,” said Carroll. “He is in the best condition of his life and I think we’re seeing how well he can play when he is conditioned. He has become a great weak side shot blocker and as good of a rebounder as I’ve seen this year.”

This isn’t the first time Majok has caught the attention of college coaches, as he has generated a consistent high-major buzz since arriving on the local scene.

According to Smith, Majok has drawn attention from a variety of high-major programs including Virginia, Stanford, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Virginia Tech, Alabama, and several others.

Despite opportunities to play college basketball at the highest levels, Harvard emerged as an early favorite for the big man’s services this summer as Majok made no secret of the fact that a great education was one of his top priorities.

While Majok has thrived on the court this year he has also been working hard in the classroom to earn a qualifying score on the academic index, the tool used by the Ivy League to standardize admission requirements.

During that time another dark horse school has emerged to rival Harvard in their bid to steal the six-foot-nine big man away from high major conferences.

“Jared [Grasso] makes Fordham a very appealing option,” Smith said of the newly appointed interim head coach.

Majok visited the Bronx campus a few weeks ago and reportedly came away very impressed with the school’s academics, the young talent on the team, and Grasso’s vision for the program moving forward.

Now it appears only a matter of time before Majok will make his final decision and seemingly chose between some of the best academic and athletic options that college basketball has to offer.

Blurb from Harvard website, published today:

Northfield Mount Hermon big man Majok Majok will not be coming to Harvard, but the Crimson's recruiting class may not yet be complete.

In a web interview March 29, the 6'8 Majok said he would make a decision "in like 2 weeks, i think." He stated his final choice of schools would be among Oklahoma, St. Louis, Oregon State, and Boston College.

As was widely reported earlier this season, Majok confirmed that Harvard had been one of his top picks, but that he had "decided to look at high major schools" and that he would not be coming to Harvard. When asked what had changed , Majok said, "i dont know. just turned in a different direction."

Majok, whose aerial feats have been well documented, had also been linked to Virginia Tech, Alabama, Virginia, and Stanford. The big man's stellar play his senior year heavily bolstered his stock at the Division I's top level.

This is from an article from October of last year

Every major college basketball program is looking for the athletic big man that can play inside, run the floor and rebound. That type of player can turn a program around in a season. Majok Majok may be that type of player for a program that can develop his basketball skills to match his athletic skills.

Majok Majok remains a bit of a mystery to basketball recruiting fans. The 6'8" power forward is best known right now for his cousin, Ater Majok, a forward for the Connecticut Huskies. His coach, Ed Smith, says that will change as there is a long list of major programs looking at his talented forward.

Coach Ed smith runs a foundation that helps students get out of tough situations in places like the Sudan and come to the United States, Canada and Australia to go to high school and college. Through his basketball camps and foundation, he has helped place many young men in US colleges, playing basketball at all levels.

"His recruiting is steady. He is being recruited by Alabama, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Boston College and Georgia Tech. Stanford has also been recruiting him.

"He is great young man. He is a hard worker and a quiet kid. He has a nose for the ball and is a tough kid on the inside. Off the court he is a very good young man and a very good student. In college he will play the four. He is big and will be a power forward. He is a banger. He can knock down the mid-range shot.

I see him as a Blake Griffin-Juan Pattillo hybrid (not in terms of skill).
Let's get him.

No offense intended ... but I wanna see some videos of him:

lifting weights
practicing on his own
getting along with teammates
reading a textbook
doing homework

THAT video will make me drool

If this kid really could have gotten into Harvard I would assume he's solid on the academic front.

Well, he certainly has the dunking aspect down.

According to the rivals article he is going to visit Saint Louis, Colorado, and "maybe" Oklahoma.

two question from the videos 1) does he play against anyone over 6'0" and 2) did he shoot a jump shot all season or was it exclusively two-handed-pull-your-knees-up-at-the-end dunks?
