Make some bold predictions for 2014

Gary you shorted the team. Only predicitng 22 wins?!?

J/K i remember you getting crucified for your thoughts on how we would be better this year, and how Cousins was going to start instead of Hornbeak. You seem to have a real feel for the team and I personally love your insights

Yes. I was def one who though you were crazy Gary. I never posted to that effect, but thought you were crazy town bannana pants. Now, and really since the MSU game, believe and trust your opinion. More than anything I do not question LK and his staff! They have done an outstanding job and have not just re-built this team, but this program!

Gary uses the power of observation and drawing logical conclusions. His efforts to attend practice and his insight gained there have been proven to be beyond reproach. I've learned to take his thoughts to heart ever since the start of last season.

Well he def has me convinced now.

1. I doubt it. Kruger made his point guard decision on day one both of the last two seasons. Grooms over Blair and then again Cousins over Grooms. As we saw last season, it isn't a locked in forever deal. But, more like a your job to lose deal. If Kruger thinks Woodard is his man. It will be his job to lose from day one. Freshman over veteran be damned. We saw that last year. Woodard may or may not lose the job. However, if Cousins starts, I would doubt that he loses it again. My prediction would be that Kruger goes with Woodard and Cousins backs up two positions. But, it will be an interesting competition.

2. Buddy came around a little slow last season. But, the kid has star qualities and I agree.

3. I agree.

4. 40% is rare air. Other than that, I would agree.

5. Spangler and Bennett aren't the Bobsy twins. Spangler is the superior athlete and player. He will step right in to a big role. Bennett is more like to have to play his way into a lot of help. The Europe trip will benefit them both a lot.

6. I'm sure Booker will be a fine player for OU. My guess that his role next season will be way less that any of last season's freshman. Two 3's a game is a pretty good clip. I doubt that he get the minutes to average that.

7. That is right. But, for all I know, they are way behind right now.

8. Seeing the schedule and watching a couple of weeks of practice would present a better opportunity to guess a W/L number. But, off the top of my head, 22 seems like a more likely number than 18.

gary, it appears to me you hit on about 7 out of 8 which is outstanding. Hornbeak only hit 12 of 55 BTA for .218 and his overall game did not develop as thought but he was a major contributor at the end of the season. Maybe that should be 7.3 instead of 7 of 8.

Good call! I think maybe another prediction that not very many had down would have been how good the Big 12 would be this year. Case and point would be your seeding for us in the NCAA (I peeked).

This is the only thing that really surprised me this season. I thought conference would be down some. I thought we would be better, KU would win the conference, and I thought we would finish higher than we were picked. I would never have picked 23-8 overall and 12-6 in the best or 2nd best conference in the country. Never. Great year. We just need to finish better than last year too.

Please pay attention and actually champion our conference. The Big XII is the best conference in the country. If you won't say it, who will. I guaranty the people in the Big Ten, Big East, ACC, SEC and Pac Ten will gladly tell you their conference is the best when they have the highest RPI.

Not sure if serious...

I am completely serious. The Big XII is the toughest conference not the second toughest conference.

Meh. There's nothing wrong with what I posted. Based on RPI, it is the best. Personally, I let NCAA tourney results determine the best conference. The only guarantee from what I've seen is its clearly one of the top 2.

30+ wins.

Damn... That is bold. Like where your head is at though because to get to 30 means we make the final four and won the conference tourney or made the Natty title game and lost in the conference tourney finals
