Still hope Kruger and company convince him otherwise. Closer to home and a better program. I'd rather have Wright than Korcheck or Spangler... I just have a feeling that he is going to end up being a really solid player.
Manning's hiring may keep Wright in Tulsa
Over the past few weeks when Tulsa fired its basketball coach Doug Wojcik, Eisenhower High School's D'Andre Wright was starting to have second thoughts about signing with the Golden Hurricane, but that appears to have changed in the past few days after word spread that Danny Manning is taking the job.
When Wojeck was ousted at Tulsa, Wright started to waver according to Ike coach Bruce Harrington, but something changed a couple of weeks ago when Tulsa Athletic Director Ross Parmley got involved.
"Ross did a great job handling this and I have to give him a great deal of credit," Harrington said Thursday. "Two weeks ago he came down here on a Sunday and went to D'Andre's house and told him everything that was happening. He wanted him to know that they were trying to get a good coach and that he just wanted D'Andre to wait and see who they hired and then make a decision. He even told D'Andre that he would give him a release if that's what he wanted."
But when Manning's name was announced Monday, it seemed to ease the concerns....
