Manyang

McNease needs to mature and he could be a really good player for us. Talent isn't an issue. AK has great size and is a good athlete. Until I hear differently I'm not counting on him being on the team next year.

Can you elaborate on why you think he won't be on the team next year?

Not really. I was surprised that he came back this semester so that is a positive sign. If he were to decide to buy in completely it would be great to have him next year. Not sure if he will or won't.

I'm assuming personal issues involving his family is why he missed parts of his last two seasons and had to take personal leaves. It's tough but if he wants to apply himself he might now be in position to concentrate wholly on basketball. You never know how a player might respond but he appears to be tough person.

I wouldn't write him off yet.

I don't think he is very good and is on the team because he is 7'. Bad hands and can't shoot and doesn't understand the game. Other than that, a heck of a player

Thanks for your input.

I disagree with your hands and shooting assessment. I agree on the understanding of the game part.

I don't think he has bad hands, I just think he lacks concentration and falls asleep on offense. Then, when the ball is coming to him from a great pass/assist he's not prepared for it. Longar Longar was exactly the same way both his first 2 years and that's why Sampson would sub him out immediately the first time he didn't catch the ball. I think most of it is due to basketball IQ because their home country doesn't play much basketball but that's just a guess.

I don't disagree with your basic point, but AK's "home country" is basically the United States. He's lived here since he was very young.

Yeah, I knew he had been here a while but the question is did he grow up watching and playing basketball? Maybe he did though it doesn't seem like it based on his play sometimes. He seems like he's fairly new to the game.

Manyang is just redundant. Whoever heard of Womanyang?
