What do you think will happen in the dance? Not what you want to happen...
We're one of those tough outs that top teams will not be eager to face. Simultaneously, lower seeds can compete with us talent-wise, thus lower seeds will hope to draw us.
I expect to win 1 or 2 games, and I don't think being a 2 seed or 12 seed will have much impact on our tourney outcome. We can hang with anybody but blow out nobody.
This is where I'm at too. We will be clearly favored in round 1. Beyond that will be basically a coin flip. I'd love to make the 2nd weekend but I'm not holding my breath.
I read this morning that if OU loses to OSU and Texas there is a chance they finish 7th in the league... That would be a really weird scenario given how good OU was this season.
I see a 5/6 seed, and either Round of 32 or Sweet 16.
Good season regardless.
to think 2 games ago we were / had 2nd pretty solid IF we won out....
The same could be said for about three other teams IF they won out. Heck, a week ago today, OSU woke up in seventh but in position to claim second IF they won out. Of course, that would require sweeping five games, all against ranked teams, with three coming on the road. If they beat us tonight, then lose one or both of their remaining games, should they feel like they let a sure thing slip away? There were plenty of us who were hoping for a second place finish, and it certainly was attainable. But even had we beaten KSU, it was far from a given, with three games remaining against very good teams in six games to close the season.
There are seven teams ranging from great to very good in this league. Whoever finishes sixth and seventh will still be among the top 15-20 teams in the country. Finishing seventh sucks because it means an extra game in KC. Other than that, there isn’t much difference between second and sixth.
