Listening to Gregg Marshall's radio show, and two things stand out: first, it is impossible to overstate what a tool he is. But sexond, and more importantly for our purposes, he is very impressed by OU. Said he knew it would be a very tough game to win, and thinks OU could definitely make it to the Sweet 16. Of course, in his typical, whiny way, he managed to take a subtle shot at Calixte and Reynolds for "abandoning" their prior schools. Then he spent several minutes complaining about officiating in games from several years ago, and bragging about the technical he got Saturday.

Good coach just not a good person. By all accounts, his wife is even worse! Sounds like they deserve each other.

Too bad the camera never found her on Saturday.

She was front row behind the bench in her black jersey. But definitely kept a lower profile than usual. Not much to cheer about other than a short stretch in the first half.

Hey Wichita, you think this was a underhanded shot at Austin Reaves? If some of the reports are true about Reaves, I think Marshall should retire now and start up a Shocker salt mill with his wife. Their tears and sweaty foreheads could make them millions.

I'm gonna make sure to stay away from that gossipfest.

Actually, I don't think he was thinking of Reaves, because it was in the context of discussing grad transfers. Marshall hates the rule, though he had to admit that he took a grad transfer a couple years ago. I am really interested to see how the crowd in Wichita treats Reaves next season. WSU took Frankamp and now Teddy Allen, but something tells me that won't stop them from being bitter when Reaves returns to town next season!

I have no qualms pointing out all the bad decisions the NCAA has made through the years, so it's only fair to give them some props for having a good idea on occasion. The Grad Transfer rule is in place to reward student-athletes who graduate college and still have a year of eligibility. Since the purpose of going to college is to graduate, I thought the NCAA created a great rule of allowing them to transfer without penalty. I'm just not sure what Marshall's argument is here. As long as Wichita State is playing at a high level, he will benefit from the rule far more often than being a victim of it.

I don't know how the crowd will treat Reaves next year but the post game handshake between he and Marshall was frosty at best.

Marshall may be (and is) a major jerk, but he can coach some defense. Those Wichita State kids were playing some excellent team defense in that OU game. very disciplined. They didnt get out of position, didnt drift too far off, didnt get beat up the court, didnt get pinned, didnt lose their guys on backcuts ... on and on. OU had to work hard for those points. Thats good basketball.

Marshall was trying to get thrown out of the game but the refs wouldn't do it. They were letting him suffer through the beat down.
