Per Helsley's Twitter: Matt Pilgrim suspended from the OSU hoops team -- indefinitely. No details, but not a legal issue, according to Travis Ford.

Nothing to see here really...just been having some attitude issues. This is Ford's way of dealing with these situations, just as he did with Terrell Harris when he was suspended indefinitely before his senior season. Pilgrim will be back.

Then why even announce it? Why not just run him to death? Do you really have to issue public "suspensions" to motivate your players? b.s.

Probably because there was a public scrimmage tonight, and Pilgrim didn't play in it. Which would lead to questions, such as, "Why didn't Pilgrim play?"

So Ford would either have to say he's currently suspended, or make up a lie.

Homecoming and hoops was tonight. Ford had to give an explanation as to why pilgrim was behind the bench in street clothes

usually in stillwater OSU athlete stuff gets swept under the rug quicker than this.

After last season, OU fans, of all people, should understand how a player, no matter how talented, can pull a team down if he doesn't follow the rules. Here's hoping that Coach Ford deals with the situation and doesn't let it effect the season.

I applaud it,coaches need to instill some discipline.

I won't applaud it until he actually misses game time. If he's reinstated by the first game who really gives a rats ass?

That's kind of how I feel. What is the point of a "suspension" if you're never actually "suspended" from anything?

I guess if you count scrimmages he is technically "suspended". Oh well, whatever.

Really? Jamar Mosely, Bo Bowling, Marshall Moses, Jamie Blatnick, Terrell Harris, Obi Munelo, Marcus Dove, Victor Johnson.....

Jabahri Brown, terrell Everett, tiny, Fitz, Pledger, Big Puma, and a couple other Sampson players I can't recall right now. We've had our fair share of suspensions.

We don 't know why he's being punished. To speculate how the punishment should fit the crime, before we know the trasgression, would be foolish. As far we know he hasn't broken any laws, hurt anybody, or plotted to overthrow the US government.

I suspect if it was anything major, someone, somewhere, would have heard something by now. I'll take a wait and see attitude.

He's being punished for missing "voluntary" workouts and some of the team practices.

I doubt he will miss any time. This is simply Ford laying down the law for the rest of the team.

Exactly.

Players get in trouble once in a while at every school. It's hilarious when fans of certain teams act like their players are as pure as the driven snow, while other schools (usually their rival) is a hotbed for "problems."

Those guys were suspended. Most of the OSU guys faced minimal suspensions. Terell Harris didn't mis a game. I don't believe Dove missed one as well. Bowling was a drug dealer and is back playing, Blatnick nearly took a guys Eye out. Tiny, Fitz, and Pledger all missed games. Brown suspended for season. Everett missed a tourney game, his last. I don't get your point.

And also, If you ever notice, OSU athletes have the same lawyer, who's not a public defender by the way, and they have the same judge....
