Definitely not a one and done guy. Unless he makes a poor decision.

It is good thing for OU if he isn't but I think it is a bit early to make that call. Osby started out slow last year and was playing quite well by the end of the year.

^ This.

I wouldn't write Amath off just yet. I agree that he hasn't looked like a one and done player so far. But the athleticism and the tools are evident. There's still plenty of time for him to discover his role on this team.

I really believe he would serve us better coming off the bench...While starting Fitz and Osby down low.

I'm not saying he won't be a good player for us, bc I think he will. I just don't see one and done NBA talent level that I've heard about.

That might be true for right now, but the more time he gets on the court, the better he'll fit in later in the year.

He has a high ceiling, and a short time to play for us, so it benifits us more to get him acclimated as quickly as possible. Good coaches use the early part of the season to set up success later in the year. I feel good about letting M'Baye work out the kinks as much as possible right now, because it will pay off quicker that way

Sorry guys, I don't even see NBA in his future. There are tons of kids out there with his athleticism with a better skill-set. Maybe I just haven't seen him play enough yet. I really hope I'm wrong, for his future and our Sooners, but I see European league-type talent.

I might agree with you if the light hasn't come on by the start of conference play. IMO, it's too early to do that right now.

I remember fans wondering why Capel called Osby the best player on the roster the year he sat out after transferring from MSU. He certainly didn't live up to the hype in the first part of the season. But after he made the adjustment to playing competively again, and shook off some of the rust, it was obvious that Capel had been right.

I have a feeling we may see the same thing with M'Baye before long.

I'm not saying that he isn't good or can't be better...I just think from a team stand point that the team would be better if he came off the bench to replace either Fitz or Osby.

Right now we have Osby playing the 5 and he showed us that we can play that position Friday, but he is more effective at the 4 like he was last season. I say we put osby back at the four and fitz at the five and bring M'Baye off the bench.
