MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

I have been told Marcus Hill, Aaron Scott, and Marcus Hill all could be potential visitors this weekend.

Thanks.

Scott's youtube is above.

Our collapse in recruiting reminds me of our collapse during the season. As of Saturday, people were crowing about (and taking for granted) the foregone conclusion we were going to imminently lock up two players people were over the moon about. My how things have changed. Since no one (not our beat guys OR the “insiders” on the board) actually knows where these guys will go, I’ll allow for the possibility things swing back in our way. But it should be yet another reminder to never take anything for granted with Moser.
Collapse in recruiting seems like a reach at this point. Yes, people were excited at the prospects of getting 2-3 guys on board, and the signs over the weekend seemed to point in that direction. However, recruiting always has ebbs and flows, especially with guys entering the portal every day.

As a reminder McCollum visited on 4/7/23 and didn't commit until 4/19/23.

I would still take Zach Anderson or Goodline....

I'm not a huge Barnes fan....at least not if there is a chance he is starting
Agreed. I'd love Anderson as a 6th man.

Goodine can play. I'm not a huge Richard Pitino fan as a coach (his dad is obviously a GOAT) but no doubt, he knows how to identify talent. He struggles coaching them, at times (has been better at UNM). This sounds lame, maybe, but I have no issue with the OU bball staff copycatting staffs like that.

Speaking of lil Richard...lol

I see nothing intriguing about Barnes. I can't get excited about the idea. Honestly, I don't think he can play in the SEC and if we're talking backups, I'd rather see what Forsythe has.

No OU. Of course not.

Wow! I'm with you SB13. Came to an OU message board and a Gloria Allred board broke out. Why don't some of you "ladies" wander on over to the DB message board and toughen up a little bit. Gees, my eyes are bleeding. Just like some of your hearts.

People keep pointing to last season as a reason to maintain hope. Well, here's the deal: we probably experienced the best case scenario late in the portal. We added several guys, and filled needs at every position. Two of those guys turned out to be studs, and the others were all key rotational pieces. With all that, plus two returning starters who were expected to make a leap and a key reserve in Godwin (plus the addition of Moser's highest rated high school recruit), we still ended up collapsing and not playing like anything resembling a tourney team for the final two months of the season. So how exactly is that supposed to make us feel better?

It's absolutely possible (in fact, I would guess it is likely) that we are in on other guys, and that some of them may be good players. And I know we will end up filling our roster, one way or another. But so many things would have to go right for us. And with each passing year that we miss the tourney and play a dull brand of basketball, I think it gets less likely that really good players will pick OU.

KU is supposedly in a good spot for Wisconsin G AJ Storr as well.
