MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

Ask a Baylor fan during their 38-year drought if they could become a great basketball program and win a national title, and the answer would have been an all-caps no. Ask during their 20-year drought and it likely would have been the same.

There's nothing about our current situation that can't change for the better.
As I said, it could change but it won’t until the donors and admin decide they want to be good at basketball. Currently, they don’t give a **** about basketball, so nothing will change.

I am starting to think the quickest way for moser to be gone would be for him to make the tournament and he gets an offer elsewhere. I’m not convinced ou will pay his $3mm buyout next year (assuming we have an 18-19 win season again). To say the admin, fans, donors do not care about basketball is an understatement.

We're all waiting and waiting and all we get is news that really good players are comitting already to other schools and OU still has nobody, may not be the front runner for anybody.
Hard to shake off the doom and gloom if all we are going to get are leftovers to fill out a so-so returning depleted roster.
Unfortunately it's too late to find a really good replacement for Moser. Should have foreseen what's going on and entered into a settlement and have him move back to a mid-major job in March.

Go outside and get some fresh air. It’ll help:

OU ain’t getting 18 or 19 wins next year.

I bet we do. Which might be worst case scenario depending on how we get there. We need a great year or a terrible year. A just barely keep your job year is the worst situation, though I don't think he can keep his job without 20 wins or an NCAA appearance.

Exactly, it's like an NBA team that isn't good enough to make a good playoff run but is too good to get a high draft pick.

Just to reiterate what @StoopsBros was saying, it’s crazy the difference approaches from the football staff to the basketball, have two D tackles visiting this weekend, then an elite one enters the portal and he immediately puts this out. Idk why it’s so hard for the basketball coaches to get involved publicly.

I agree with social media presence. But comparing Ou getting 2 elite DT vs OU basketball is comical.

It's not comparing between the level of talent, it's comparing the two different approaches on different platforms, followed the kid months ago when there were first rumors of entering the portal. Does it mean you land the kid? no, but it allows you to keep being seen.
