MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

I feel awful for J. Moore.

We are all well aware of how bad OU's NIL situation at the moment. Its bad, but is it bad enough for an NIL package for a top target to 'fall apart'? No. With all due respect to Bob I do not think that the case. Even more, if OSU is involved.

It has to do with what we have all been complaining about - no commits, coaching style, lack of support, and no clear indication this team will be close to the tournamnet next year.

I've said it over and over again. NIL>>>>>Coaching at this point in time.
Nah. If that the case, Kentucky wouldn't have the NCAA record they do in recent years. And aTm football would have accomplished a heck of a lot more.

You can still win in today's climate without backing up the Brinks truck. I firmly believe that.

I'll be surprised if he's not gone at this point. If our funding isn't coming through, we are screwed.

We were VERY close to big time trouble with football in January. Someone came through and saved our ass. No one is making those saves for the basketball program.

If they end up at osu, that isn't the "reason". They (osu) hasn't made the Tourney the last three years either.

We've seen hints of it throughout this process, but it sure feels like Pedulla and Garrison hold a grudge against OU. Did we recruit either of them at all coming out of HS? I've seen conflicting reports on which team Garrison grew up rooting for.

Weird situation all around.

then that makes perfect sense for Oklahoma State to be involved
I mean, at least OSU has a fresh start with a new coach who took Western Kentucky to
The tourney. Kids are more willing to give him a chance based on that I’d guess. Moser can’t keep living off of his success in Chicago.

Meanwhile, football is mostly crushing it. Save for Damonic. I think he'll end up at Texas (but who knows for sure).

OU WBB hosted arguably the #1 portal player. Beating UCONN will be uber tough but hey, they got her on campus. That's a win in and of itself.

Why wouldn’t he portal and get paid big $$$ to play for a winner?

Seriously, get off the ship, Jalon. No one will blame you.
At this point he is in line to take about 75% (maybe more) of our shots next season. Think of the records he could break?

Kentucky still had a ton of Freshmen on their teams over the years. You can't win with a ton of Freshman like that anymore. Football is a different beast. NIL in basketball>>>>>>>>>>>>>.

Examples of why I think NIL is an overblown excuse for OU's mens basketball failures.

OU football's NIL isn't broke, but its a fact that a) it's not up there with the elite, and b) OU/Venables isn't going to give a kid $1M to come to OU and mess up the culture he is building. And yet, coming off some mediocre football by OU's standards, he appears to be building a very good team/program.

OU women can get the #1 recruit out of the Portal? You know we aren't the highest bidder.
