MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

that would not explain osu at all
Unless he thinks having Garrison on the team will make them a winner..

Geez. What a disaster. Get garrison then and convince pedulla that we will go .500 in conference for once..

Of course that's the case, but OSU isn't going to be in any better shape than OU would have been with Pedulla and Moore - assuming Moore isn't already silently in the portal.
But for a guard Lutz style fits it more, run and gun, and get shots up. We are walk the ball up the court, attempt some kind of pick and roll, panic because now theres only 10 seconds on the shot clock, throw up a prayer or turn it over driving into the paint. Then play really good defense, rinse and repeat.

This whole thread really just confirms for me that most the "insiders" (both on the beat and on this board) are clueless when it comes to the portal and NIL and what is going on with the program. We are going to sign so-and-so! Wait, maybe we aren't! Our football program is flush with cash! No, it isn't! It's hard to keep up with all the different rumors, because they change daily and from "insider" to "insider." Unless/until NIL numbers become public info, i.e., not just speculation, I will continue to look at the things that are much easier to gauge -- player development, in-game coaching, style of play, roster retention, etc.

Nah. If that the case, Kentucky wouldn't have the NCAA record they do in recent years. And aTm football would have accomplished a heck of a lot more.

You can still win in today's climate without backing up the Brinks truck. I firmly believe that.
Can you name one school that is winning- and by winning I mean top 25 program, competing for at least conference championships and Sweet 16- in a P6 conference that ISN'T backing up the Brinks truck and playing the NIL game?

If it wasn't about money and NIL, then why are Alabama and Duke losing a ton of players? Both current elite programs with good coaches and facilities.

Not defending Moser, but without support from our AD and admin, it doesn't matter if we fired Moser today or not. We could be MARGINALLY better, but not "winning".

And of course this is the season we go to a premier early-season tournament. LOL Great timing.
I was actually looking at going. Not at this point unless things REALLY change. Both Arizona (daughter's current school) and Indiana (wife's masters alma mater) will be there as well, so we thought it would be fun.

And it might be, aside from the basketball.

Duke lost five scrubs and two good players. They have the top class in the country coming in and five of the defections would never have seen the floor, and the other two guys likely would have seen their roles change significantly. And do you really think Duke, of all programs, is lacking NIL funds? If they get outbid for a player, e.g., Roach, it isn't because they can't afford him, it is likely because they simply don't think he is worth as much as he is asking for and they are confident they will be fine without him.

I hardly post, just lurked for years. I consider myself the ultimate upbeat, positive person when it comes to OU basketball. I am currently not at present. Hopefully that changes as I want OU basketball to win a national championship in my lifetime more than almost any other sporting achievement.

I think I'm probably one of the biggest sunshine pumpers on this board. There's no sunshine to pump right now.

Brody Lusk just confirmed that Pedulla and his camp thought it was too much of a risk to go to OU because he values winning more than anything.
That sounds WAY MORE likely than our NIL fell apart.

And it's what some of us have been saying. We had a chance with both Pedulla and Garrison, but both wanted to see a roster that could make some noise. Both were apparently smart enough to realize that wasn't going to happen.
