MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

Boulder, here is what is currently in the works. As I've noted many times, your $500k per player amount is way too high.

The 500k per player has nothing to do with this.

That range is the long term cba with a player union. Rev share number (ballpark)

This would be in place instead of that. And if they do this shortly, they aren't going to hop to full-scale CBA anytime soon I wouldn't think. But I still think you can use this as a guide. The revenue shared just isn't going to be high enough where basketball players are getting $500k across the board. It's just not.

Basketball revenue is over 12 mil at OU. 40 percent of that /13 is almost 400k per player. And 40 percent player share is on the low side of revenue. Most pro leagues (and that is what this will be are closer to 50% player share.)

That is over 460k per player

Looks as though Godwin is the man to blame currently (it's always someone).

He and Moore are the two known quantities on the team. If we can get a better center, great, but for now my primary concern is virtually every other position on the team and two or three spots on the bench.
No one is blaming Sam for a thing. We are blaming our head coach for roster construction.

Are you sure we've downgraded our athletic ability? Moore is still there, Cooper will play. Jones is a pretty vertical athlete and Elvis is athletic in a way nobody was last year - he's shifty and has a stop and go game. I agree overall, we may be a little less athletic, but still athletic enough to compete at the high P5 level. The shooting has improved, but now is there enough playmaking and verticality from the 5 position? Those are the two main needs to fill now. If you land Garrison or Onyenso, then you can afford to be a little less athletic everywhere else.
Losing Waldo and Oweh is a big hit athletically. I don’t think any of the guys we’re bringing in are close to their level. I agree about Cooper but I also have no idea if Moser will actually play him.

Trying to dig on JIC.

Obviously, we've heard from the OU side that OU's kicking the tires.

But it sounds like Kentucky and/or Ole Miss are as well, or could. Supposedly, Ole Miss conducted an in-home. I'm not sure where that info originated though. I gave up both Rivals and/or 247 subs about 4-5 days ago. StoopsBros = anti-media. On my own island, lol. I would guess the Ole Miss rivals site. Grain of salt.

Edit: Ole Miss did an in-home before JIC committing to VA Tech. Still, it sounds like there could be renewed interest.

What a timeline. Damn.

Godwin is a liability vs any athletic team with size. Godwin did the majority of his work vs smaller teams in the noncon. Thinking Center isn't a problem is strange to me.
He was good in spots. Houston I believe was one.
