After OU’s first-round NCAA Tournament loss to Rhode Island, McGusty told the Tulsa World this offseason would have a different feeling.
Turns out a different feeling means a different program.
“The year didn’t go like I wanted it to go for me,” McGusty said. “It really fuels me. It took a lot for me to get over that hump at the beginning of the season, but once I got over it, it was cool. I still got that pain inside of me, that hurt. So it’s just knowing what you’re capable of doing and start showing that on the court. I definitely still have that fuel, and am taking that into my workouts in the offseason and the fall.”
mcgusty was a major cancer to the team this season
Because he came off the bench? He didn't like that?
I guess he should have worked on his game , because if he did he would of been a day 1 starter .

1 more transfer to go, and then maybe a surprise transfer after that.
Matt or anyone else:
There has been a discussion of Jordan leaving. So, why is McGusty leaving? Anyone know. Did Lon ask him to go, did he ask him to stay, or is neither of these things true. Maybe, Lon left it up to him and he just didn't like the situation as OU. Until late, he didn't start and didn't play much. I think he has potential, but sort of took the year off I guess, if I'm hearing what you guys are saying.
I guess I'm interested in whether Lon has found other players and is just cleaning house so he can give the new guys schollies, or if the roster is changing without regard to whether we have silent commits to take their place.
Any insight is appreciated.
yes he did not handle it well from early in the year and his parents got involved
