When I first saw McKenna, she reminded me of Lauren Cox in style. Lauren was a bit taller and bigger, but not a lot. Both seemed to be good on the boards, and the favorite shot of both appeared to be about a four to six foot banker shot at a 45 degree angle. Both were accurate. I kept waiting for that McKenna to emerge last year, the one that I had seen in two games. It never really did. Instead of confident, she seemed hesitant. Instead of shooting with certainty, she seemed apprehensive. I just don't think she got her feet under her as a freshman. She moves and shoots better than she showed us. I hope that we see it emerge as a sophomore.
After seeing Nancy several times, the person that I see benefiting most from her presence is a post/forward type that gets a lot of putback opportunities. With Nancy around, I think a good rebounder could easily get ten boards per game, and a player who could put it back up quickly could make ten to welve points per game just from second chance points. A lot of things happen around Nancy, and I see McKenna as one who could benefit.
