I missed the first half, why did Lon leave mgusty on the bench until 8 minutes left? Is he in the dog house?

Mgusty to me is no doubt our second best player and might be our best scorer

Lon baffles me sometimes with player minutes

Because Lon has this new strategy where he plays dumb line ups and loses games. This is the new Oklahoma basketball. Better book it, 9-24 is the record

His line ups this season have defied all logic. He deserves a lot of blame for this season imo.

You are dead on correct. LK's line-ups and sub pattern have made no sense from the beginning of the year. He is as lost as the team.

I'm thinking Lon might have a brain tumor. Only explantation for the erratic sub patterns I can come up with.

LK said in post game he wasn't being aggressive, fwiw.

It was because McGusty was playing out of control in the 1st half. Forcing shots, wild drives, etc. I think Lon was sending him a message. Just my opinion.

I'm thinking Lon is playing different guys trying to find a couple players that want to bring it night after night. If he had five guys that could win I think his track record says he might start them for three years straight.

McGusty may be one if not the best freshman Lon has ever coached , and that's saying something .
He will hold him to a higher standard .
He's played two HORRIBLE games ina row (11 turnovers against wvu)
Just sending a message that everyone is held accountable .
Just trying to push the buttons of a player that the sky is the limit .

I'm pretty sure Lon knows more than all you experts put together.

I'll put my trust in him...although I will admit I cringe every time Cole steps on the floor. But sometimes you need to make a point I guess.

I think I agree with you....yet the main problem is that Lon has pretty much been doing this all season....with not much results to show for it.:(

It's this kind of "cultist" attitude that drives me crazy. Yes, Lon is a very good coach and he has experienced a lot of success (and I'm glad we have him). However, that doesn't mean he is immune from criticism and it certainly doesn't excuse his oversight in the abortion of a season that we are having this year.

Cole, Strong and Buford.

It's almost a guaranteed run for the other guys when any of them step on the floor.
