Why doesn't Kruger do it? Doesn't it seem like it'd be fun for the players and fans, and generate some interest? And recruits love that stuff..

We used to do a "Baseline Bash". Then we tried to get in with the Greek crap that they do for homecoming (iirc it's "Scandels"). I think the Alumni game is more of the preseason fan event now.

I'm kind of glad we don't do it like OSU now (there's is tied to Greek crap like the last couple of ours was).

The only way that I see it working would be to combine the Alumni game with a Saturday or Friday evening event (maybe the Alumni game on Saturday and the basketball event on Friday night) and make sure Women's team is involved. Otherwise, I don't think we would get the fan support. They could do it in the field house and I think it would be pretty cool.

I do not want to have it tied in with the Greek programs...

I went to OSU's last night for the first time in a few years, and it was extremely impressive. The production value was out of this world. And the Greek stuff, which was saved until AFTER the scrimmage this time, thankfully, was very quick and they are very noisy which looks good for recruiting. Which, I assume, is the primary reason for all of these events.

I thought this was a thoughtful post. I can not comment on the Greek part since I skipped higher education. I enjoy the Alumni game and genuinely appreciate the Kruger touch as far is that is concerned. If Sherri and her guys were included in an event with the men and we added the twins, Drob, Hand, Dales and others to the event and actual game I think more folks would come out. I mean really, its the spirit of the thing that matters. I would pay money to watch JoMac swat one of Mr. Blevin's layups. Have Tubbs vs Sampson with two teams mixed with both genders.

You have to involve Greeks or some other event to get people to show up. Not enough interest in the program right now.

Back when Sampson was coach they would do a greek thing either before or after, but they would say the basketball portion would start at this time. So I would show up just for the Basketball. Not allways as good as seats, but Imissed the greek show.
