Minnestoa's Devoe Joseph is transferring

Sounds like just what we need...

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota guard Devoe Joseph has been suspended for the second time this season and will not play against Indiana on Tuesday night.

Coach Tubby Smith says Joseph “is working on some things that he needs to work on” and could be out for longer than just one game. Joseph was suspended the first six games of the season for a violation of team rules and academic issues.

Joseph is averaging 11.3 points and 3.5 assists for the Golden Gophers. Minnesota lost its first two Big Ten games, at Wisconsin and Michigan State, last week to fall out of the Top 25.

Smith says he’s disappointed in Joseph but confident the team can get by without him.

My bet is Texas with his brother. Especially since they missed out on Deandre Daniels.

weird. and stupid. transfer now as a jr, so you can come in somewhere and play a single semester before completing your eligibility? makes no sense at all.

if somehow, he can't stand to play 25 minutes/game on a good team for one of the best coaches in the country, he should at least finish the year there, and transfer to play a full year as a sr.

Pretty sure they play different positions but I guess it frees up a scholly. Has the Daniels committment come out yet because I've read where UK looked good, then Kansas, and now nobody knows. Funny how everyone has a source when it comes to a top recruit.

Sounds like another great fit for Capel's system. He's a players coach and the master at working with kids like this and getting them back on the right track.

Was surfing the Rivals national basketball recruiting board just now and Came across this, FWIW.

AdamZagoria: Minnesota transfer Devoe Joseph is looking at West Virginia, Oregon, Baylor, Pittsburgh, Charlotte & Niagara.
