Unreal. Proud of the kids for their toughness. Lon needs some credit for keeping the kids positive through the losing streak and not letting the team fracture.

Beat ISU, and we will have beaten 3 teams in a row that are in the top 25 (I think Tech was in top25).

A couple weeks ago, I would have bet a lot of money this team couldn't have a winning record in conference, and now you almost expect it.

Good job team

Fun to watch them develop.

The entire game tonight was fun to watch. The offense we played in the first half by attacking them was so fun and seeing guys like Jamuni hit some big shots and get some easy dunks was very cool!

I was just so proud to watch them fight. Never gave up. I was going to be happy either way after we cut it to like 4 with under 4 min. I thought "man this team is showing me some poise. Great fight and can be a good ball club next year." Then we won the DANG thing! Lol so dang proud!

Boooomer!

And the way they handled the press? Impressive. McGusty was very poised in the times he was handling it against it as well. Very surprised.

WOW!!!!! That is Oklahoma basketball, like someone said its been fun watching them grow. This win will take them to the next one, I'm not saying they will win all of the remaining games but they will make a dent in the rest of them.

Am I the only one who thinks McGusty might be a candidate to play a little at the point next season?

Just was able to watch the game. Wow!!!! As I watched the end of that OT and Jordan's game winner I couldn't help but be reminded of his freshman year barely missing the layup for the game winner... love his aggressiveness!!!

I was stuck late at work but followed the score closely the whole time. I couldn't be prouder of our Sooners -- just a great win.

And now that I'm home, I'm raising a bourbon on the rocks in tribute to our guys and settling in to watch the game on DVR-delay. I'm going to savor every minute of it.

I'm with you Sky.....raising a Woodford Reserve in honor of the Sooners.....great win!

Just depends on who they bring in. Maybe. He's going to be such a dynamic scorer off the ball though. I was actually wondering earlier in the year, and this might be a little crazy, if Odomes could develop into a Terrell Everett type PG.

I asked the same question a few days ago -- if anyone sees Odomes playing PG at some point.

honestly I think our length at the guards (minus JW) really frustrated them. We can pass over. Wv bets on a trap that smaller guards can't pass over.

frustrated we seem our rotation is limited now

no on James right now, he needs limited minutes and by limited I mean mop up time.

I'm not sure how that helps the team or his growth as a player? I get the "limited minutes" part. He only played 17 tonight which is "limited" for a guy that was starting and playing 25+ minutes. The thing about his 17 minutes is I don't remember him playing even 17 minutes good or bad which I think is actually a good thing. I remember him missing a three, that at the time seemed crucial but other than that it wasn't like games past this season that I remember him making horrible decisions/bonehead turnovers that killed the momentum and the team.

In 17 minutes he had one turnover which is really good especially against WVU as a guard. I think his biggest issue right now is confidence. He came into the season in his own mind (and a lot of fans' minds) as being the #1 or at worst the #2 scoring option on the team. For a kid his age coming off a season he was the 5th or so scoring option and the season before being out for injury that's an unrealistic expectation but it was there.

In the last two games, he has played 17 minutes against WVU and 19 against TTU and had 1 turnover combined. However, he's also only had 3 points total in the last two games as well. I feel like this team is finally establishing an identity on offense through JWood, McGusty and Odomes that teams have to game plan for. That to me should only help James if he buys into it. He can relax a little and just play. This is a team that could/should have 3-4 guys each game score 10+ a game which is exactly what they've done the last 2 games (5 guys with 10+ against WVU and 4 guys against TTU) and they've won.

James still has the ability to score (it doesn't vanish overnight) he just has to pick and choose his spots and be ready when his time comes. I for one, think he can still play a huge role for this team this year and moving forward. Moving him to "mop up" duty would be a huge mistake in my opinion.

From watching CJ in the games it's pretty obvious that he puts a lot of pressure on himself and when he makes a mistake he really beats himself up about it. I'm hoping that the improvement of the team as a whole will relieve some of that pressure he feels to 'be the next Buddy'.

Agree with every point, Maverick. Christian has as much talent and potential as anyone on this team, he apparently just lost his confidence early in the conference season. Now he's trying to regain what he was showing us at the start of the year – and his play the last two games are at least a good start (referencing your point about one turnover in those two games). And to the point that he missed a crucial trey in the second half, he also came back a few minutes later and drilled huge three.

Lon obviously believes in the kid and he'll give him every opportunity to play his way out of this slump. Relegating CJ to "mop-up" duty would be unwise and absolutely a last resort for Kruger.

I still think James is too heavy. He lacks confidence like everyone has stated, but his decision making has been bad. He had a layup last night and passed it out. He has done things like this all year I've noticed. He just doesn't seem to be able to finish very well. I hope this changes, but I think he needs to lose some weight.

By the way Woodard. This guy does not get enough credit on how athletic he is and strong. He finishes well and had a nice slam last night. His shot will come around soon too I bet.

If Trey Young comes to Norman those two will be a lethal backcourt would remind me of a Q. White and Hollis backcourt, where both could sort of be considered a point guard.

If Young goes elsewhere, then McGusty could definitely find himself playing some PG. Gotta think Shepard gets a chance there two and maybe someone not on the current roster.

McGusty was a key to breaking pressure last night - ONE turnover - amazing
