According to ex Tulsa University player, Rod Thompson, 2014 6 foot 9 center Mitchell Solomon of Bixby is having an outstanding week at The Adidas Invitational. Solomon recently visited OU, and is hearing from Texas Tech, TCU, Tulsa, and Oral Roberts.

Re: Mitchell Solomon

Kid is a sneaky prospect, all he has done is rapidly improve over the past 6-9 months.

Re: Mitchell Solomon

Thanks, guys! Solomon looks like a good prospect. He's big for his age, but definitely not clumsy. He seems to know his way around the rim inside, and he has a nice touch on his short-range jumper.

Here's a highlight video OKHoops.com put together on several Oklahoma recruits. Solomon is featured at about the 3:22 mark.

For those who may not be familiar with OKHoops, here's the link. It's a good source for news and highlight videos on prep basketball players in Oklahoma:

Re: Mitchell Solomon

Hopefully Crutch can help up there with this kid since it was his stomping grounds for a few years. Would love to add a HS big with upside

Re: Mitchell Solomon

Solomon just picked up two big twelve offers. One offer is from OU.

Thanks, Will! It's good to hear that our coaches are getting in on this kid early. Instate recruits with a 6' 9" 220 body and what appears to be a huge upside don't come along too often.

I also liked the intensity he displayed on the highlight video. If he continues to develop, and maybe even get a little bigger, he could be a good one in time.

Re: Mitchell Solomon

That highlight video doesn't do him much justice with the improvement to his skill level he's made in the 5 months or so since it was made.

Re: Mitchell Solomon

Wonder if he is part of the reason we parted ways with Hammonds?

In that case, I really want this kid!

I liked what I saw on the highlight video. If he has improved appreciably in the five months since then, he could be close to a "must get" when it's time for him to make a decision.

Re: Mitchell Solomon

According to Sam, Lon Kruger is watching him play tonight along with coaches from ostate, aTm and Texas.

Re: Mitchell Solomon

Over half the Big 12 and other teams in the region are going to be chasing Solomon now. Kid shot the ball like a guard for much of the weekend, while also doing quality work around the rim. He's becoming a high quality post prospect.

Re: Mitchell Solomon

Anyone know if he has any ties to OU?

Re: Mitchell Solomon

Solomon looks bad to me... I guess we have to replace tyler neal with another low D-1 player.... on another note we gotta lock up Omega Harris. makes everything look so effortless.

Solomon added Oklahoma St, Marquette, Vanderbilt, SMU and Texas A&M to his offers after a great week, yeah's he's just so bad......

Stuck my head in the gym on Thursday to catch a glimpse of Solomon, as Sam said, he shot the ball REAL well. Can see why so many schools are interested.
