Per Emig's Twitter: Mizzou announces F Kadeem Green to transfer, leaves No. 7 Tigers with two scholarship big men and seven healthy/eligible schol players.

I haven't really followed Mizzou that much. Was this guy a contributor? It seems their depth is of real concern, but they are winning I guess.

He was only getting about 10 minutes a game, so I'm not sure that he is a huge loss. Mizzou has 6 guys that get the bulk of the minutes, from what I have seen.

Green was the eighth guy in a seven-man rotation.

He didn't play at all vs. Illinois or Villanova and played less than a minute vs. Old Dominion.

His loss will be felt only if/when Mizzou gets into major foul trouble or has an injury in the front court. I'm sure there will be a few games this year when he would have been called upon to play real minutes. But in most games, this will be a non-factor.

MU also has a football player walk-on (6-5, 250 Andrew Jones, former tight end) who may find himself getting some of those emergency minutes in the post. He's definitely no high D-1 player, but I believe he did have some mid-major interest in hoops in high school before football became his obvious destination.

Andrew Jones doesn't play football anymore? Man, I thought he was going to be really good. Interesting

He didn't quit. Just ran out of eligibility. He was a senior this year.

Jones stepped in as a true freshman and had a pretty nice year, but he's been invisible ever since. For whatever reason he just couldn't find his way onto the field much (Michael Egnew breaking through as an All-Big 12/All-American TE didn't help). Now that Jones' football eligibility is up, he's chosen to walk on with the basketball team. He has this year left, plus next year if he chooses to stick with it.

So looking at the Mizzou roster, am I wrong in seeing that they have 7 scholarship players, 5 of whom are seniors? Dear god it's going to be hilarious watching Mizzou in '12-'13.

Yes, that's wrong.

We have just seven scholarship players who are healthy and eligible right now, but we have eleven total. Keion Bell (18.9 ppg at Pepperdine) and Earnest Ross (13.1 ppg, 6.6 rpg at Auburn) will be eligible at the beginning of next year. Jabari Brown (19th ranked player in 2011 class) will be eligible after the first semester. And Laurence Bowers is coming back from his injury.

Phil Pressey and Mike Dixon will be the sole returning players who played this season in addition to those four above.

Mizzou also has five recruits signed, another committed but unsigned, and an open scholarship we're actively trying to fill (with top 10 Devonta Pollard being the highest profile candidate; the last time he spoke with reporters he included Mizzou in his list of five or so schools).

Next year's roster will have three seniors, three juniors, one sophomore and five or six freshmen.

Should be an interesting transition. Hilarious isn't my expectation, though.

Good luck replacing an entire roster. The only saving grace is that you'll be playing in the SEC.
