MMBest5 - Best all time starting five

and he was the best player in the leage the year before .. how many big 12 POY's did hollis win?

If you don't understand the logic of why comparing THAT award across multiple years doesn't work, I really don't care to explain it to you.

So EVERY player that has ever won the Big 12 POY award is better than EVERY player that hasn't?

I'll go ahead and answer that. No.

As I've stated before, Hollis Price is the most overrated player in the history of the program.

And I love him.

Here is my team:

Trae at point.
Buddy on the wing
Mookie on the wing
Waymon at the 4
Griffin at the 5.

My two bigs off the bench would be Adams and King
My two wings off the bench would be Erdmann and S. Henry
My backup point would be Q. White

Buddy, Waymon and Griffin were considered the best players in the nation their final seasons.

Mookie is still considered by some experts as one of the best overall guards to ever play college basketball. He is the best defensive guard I have ever seen, with only P. Pressey in the discussion.

As for trae, there are different opinions, but I think he the best pure point I have ever seen at OU. Understand the arguments for Q, but just don't agree.

BTW, I think Sayers is the best runner I have ever seen, but his statistics wouldn't support that conclusion.

I'm on your side for Buddy over Hollis (slightly), but that statement is ridiculous.

Is there a good college basketball website for advanced, metric-like stats for individual players?

Some of you, probably the same ones that don't understand the concept as it relates to football, are doing a poor job of not factoring in possessions and style of play into counting stats.

Hollis did not play well in any of the 4 NCAA Tournament losses, but I'm not sure Buddy did, either. Hollis provided so many great memories for us fans including Clock-Gate, knocking down those clutch free throws as a freshman against Missouri in the conference tournament, keying what was arguably the greatest half of OU NCAA Tournament play in a comeback win over Arizona in the 2002 Sweet 16, and inspiring the team to its 2003 Tourney run when most guys would not have even suited up.

I'll keep both Buddy and Hollis on my starting team, but would take Hollis off if I had to go with a natural "3", since I would pick Buddy over Hollis at the "2".
