Monday vs Mercer

Mercer is pretty good.....they beat Seton Hall and they have a solid big who is in the 6'10" range and a 6'4" guard who can play. They have some solid role players as well....athletic guys who run the floor well and are strong.

This is no pushover game.....it isn't Chaminade or SFA.......they will probably win their conference.......this should be a tough matchup against a solid basketball team.

We saw them up close the week before last and they are good......we played North Carolina Central as well, who beat NC State last week on the road....and Mercer is better.

Conveniently didn't mention their losses.

It wasn't a convenient skip on the losses...but it also was a testament to the fact that this isn't a pushover game against some lousy DII team or something like some on here are trying to make it out to be. OU isn't going to just "show up" and win....they are going to have to play because Mercer can be a dangerous team.

I was simply pointing out some of their strengths because we played them recently.....and we played a team that beat NC State on the road and I thought Mercer was better.

I love OU and love their program...I think Lon has them on the right track and they can be very good......but we are far from a perfect team....we aren't the type of team that can just show up and beat teams pursely on talent alone.

I know enough about athletics and, specifically, basketball to know that you have to come ready to play....and if you don't, you risk losing. This same OU team had some troubles with Oklahoma Christian......when they play they are good.....when they don't, they can struggle. I just don't want to see them struggle against a team that can jump up and bite you.

That's all.

simply trying to give FIRST-HAND knowledge of Mercer......not my cross-country opinion of them.
