most improved ?

I see it a bit differently. I think OU has problems is Lattin is not the most improved player. Hield, Cousins, Woodard and Spangler don't really have to improve much. Booker, Bennett and Thomas are gone. McNease and Buford didn't play so it is difficult for fans to say they are improved. Walker was repeatable and that is really all OU needs from him. Of the guys that played any significant minutes and returned the only real candidates are Woodard, Lattin and Walker.

Someone has to step up and be the fifth starter. Even if that is not Lattin, OU needs Lattin to make a bigger impact.

I only see a couple of needs for this to be a really good team. First, someone must step and be a starter to replace Thomas. Second, the bench needs to be more productive. If I could have one more thing, it would be someone being a consistent scorer off the bench much like Jason Dietrik was years ago.

This.

We really need Lattin to be solid/improved for us this year. Even if both Buford and Manyang are solid, Lattin needs to be good himself.

I agree, Lattin has to be up to the challenge of following M'Baye, Ro, and Thomas

I think he will be. I actually liked a lot of things he did last year. His shot wasn't falling but he seemed to have descent form and the confidence to shoot the ball. He certainly demonstrated really good shot blocking and above average rebounding. If his shooting percentage and rebounding improve, he has a chance to be a really nice player.

I think that all 5 1st year guys play. Along with the 4 returning starters and Lattin, that is a 10 man rotation. I think Walker has been recruited over and will the the 11th man. Of course that is barring any injury.

I have more hopes for McNeace than most because I think he has the ability to score from 15 feet out. Looks to have nice touch. Critical issue is has he gained enough strength to hold his own in the middle and will he be able to defend and rebound with the bigs.

I believe that Cousins will be the backup point and along with giving him more rest (along with Spangler) so he won't wear down like he did last year someone is going to get a lot of guard minutes.

I suspect that the most improved will be the one who works the hardest to improve during the off season. Those of you who get to practices and know people inside the program have a better idea than I do in that regard.

Based on what little I know about what is going on in the off season I will guess that the most improved will be between Lattin and Woodard. I believe Lattin will show a vastlly improved offensive game with Thomas gone. His shots looked good but he lacked confidence. If he has worked hard enough on the shots he should shoot with more confidence and he has the quickness to be tough inside.

Woodards issue was consistency. At times he could get to the hoop on anyone and make shots and/or draw fouls when you couldn't believe he could even get the shot off. Also at times he hit his outside shots pretty well. The fact that Kruger most often went to Woodard in crunch time tells me that he has the ability to really create havoc inside. He should have matured enough to be more consistent and also improve his passing off skills.

Lattin is improved. Last year's winner was Cousins and he has improved a bunch again this year.

Great news! Lattin could be a match up nightmare on offense if he develops a couple of good post moves and starts to knockdown his shots from the perimeter.

He was already a decent defender/shot blocker and rebounder last year. If he improved in those areas by getting stronger this summer and develops into a dependable 5 to 8 points per game scorer during the non-conf. portion of our season, this OU team could be really good by conference time. I think Khadeem and Dante are very important ingredients to our success this season.

I agree. This team has a chance to be special.

If OU has the luxury of not needing to play Walker, OU is a really good team. Walker averaged over 10 minutes a game last season. He was a double figure scorer five times on the season, including against Wisconsin and Texas both games. Clearly he is capable of putting up points against top competition. I expect him to be better this season. So if the new guys are all so much better that he doesn't even play, OU is going to be really, really good in my opinion.

They kind of took him out of that role last season so I don't know if that will be the case but I do get why you would suggest that.
