my gut feeling is that we lose tmg and tiny and ww returns. how ironic would that be? I also think steven pledger will be greatly GREATLY improved. i wouldnt be surprised in the least if he is our best player offensively. i can see him being a more athletic jj redick and averaging 17ppg. His whole life he has been a great shooter i think that he just had a hard time adjusting to college and all.
i know ww didnt do great at pg this yr but i think its our only option to try him there again next year. Hopefully he'll embrace it as his best chance to get to the next level and best option for the TEAM.(15 and 8 would be a great year for ww)
Cade will clearly start because he is one of the few if not the only player this yr that bought into the whole playing hard idea. i dont think hes the most talented player in the world but as a senior i think he can give us effort 10ppg and 6 or 7 boards a game.
so far we have:
pg- willie(15 and 8assists)
sg-pledge(17ppg)
sf-cade(10 ppg 7rbs)

this is where it gets more tricky. as of know we have 1 big guy that has played at all. OUCH. Fitz will def start at either the 4 or 5. if we get aziz then well start fitz and aziz. if somehow we dont get another big guy or one that can play i think we'll have no choice to go small ball again with cam clark playing the four and fitz at c. that will hurt bc our tallest player will be what? 6'8.

assuming we get aziz our lineup will look like this:

pg-ww(15 and 8)
sg-pledge(17ppg)
sf-cade(10 and 7)
pf-fitz(9 and 5)
c-aziz(5 points 8 rbs 3 blocks(HOPING))

i think that team could be decent defensively and our starting lineup would average 56 pts. Off the bench we are going to need someone to put up double figures. the only candidate that we have right now would be cam clark bc we know he has athletic ability and talent. im a big fan of having a really good shooter and scorer coming off the bench. i think that you always need a spark of the bench. it would be huge if we could get someone(like ray mccallum) or whoever that could be a good solid pg day one. this would allow warren to move to the two and pledger to come off the bench. i stil think pledger should get starters minutes off the bench. this works in the nba. the spurs have ginobili off the bench and nuggs have jr smith. i think if we were to get a good pg and 3 serviceable bigs, hopefully 2 jucos and one talented highschooler, i think we could have a winning record, def nit, possible 10 or 11 seed in the big tourney.

am i dreaming?

Losing TMG and Gallon would/will be a huge setback. It would be good if one of those guys could stay. Gallon may be the best bet. As big of a headache both have been and as through as I have been with both, they possess skills in their games that we need in the worst way. I remember last year when we were going through this attrition with Patillo and some posters being like "good riddance". It because obvious what skill Jp possessed in his game that we missed real quick.

yeah im not saying i dont want those guys. i was just saying that my guess is that we will lose both. do you think that lineup could get us in the tourney. or at least nit

Can definitely see that, is WW willing to take the chance that someone will take him at the end of round 1 and possibly slip into round 2 ? I know I wouldnt.

You really get the feeling that TMG was a pretty big problem for this team and him leaving is a good thing, who knows whats going on with Tiny but hopefully he did nothing wrong. If we have Tiny and WW to build along with whoever is coming in we can be decent.

17 points per game for pledger? I really doubt it, he might have some big games where he goes off for 20 or so on 6 three pointers but I don't think anywhere near 17 a game. 10-12 would be very very good for him in the starting lineup. Plus it will be hard to keep Cam out of the line up over Pledger based on Cam's atheltic ability over Pledger which could lead to more defense. Also a guy like Pledger at this stage in his career is a great form of instant offense off the bench.

Agreed... no way Pledger averages 17 a game next year. I think Pledger is a 6'4'' Keiton Page. He is Mike Neal, Kelley Newton, Tim Heskett, etc. A 3pt shooting specialist and at the peak of his career will average 10-13 a game.

I agree with this, although I'll also add Pledger is worse on defense than Neal, Newton, Heskett and maybe Page.

We may not even have a single player average 17 ppg next year, much less a guy like Pledger that may not even start.

If Pledger is a 6'4 Keiton Page then you can take it to the bank he will average 17 pt. Page averaged 11 this year despite being maybe 5'8.

To me, Pledger is nothing more than a poor mans Obi M! Less handles, slower and a streakier shooter(so far).

We say losing TMG and Tiny will be a huge setback, but what do we know? we thought this team would be really good.
