that YOU think gives us the best chance to win at Arky.

Mine:

Calvin Newell
Cade Davis
Cam Clark
CJ Washington
Drew Fitzgerald

with Calvin taking the ball up the court and CJ playing the low post on offense. Let Drew guard the other team's center but be the high post on offense.

What say you?

I would like to see:
1. Blair
2. Pledger
3. Davis
4. Neal
5. Fitz

I think Newell is a nice spark off of the bench. I like Blair's basketball IQ with the ball in his hands. If they have a PG that is too quick for him like Chaminade's then put Newell in there quick. I think you have to have Pledger and Cade out there since they are scoring more consistently then anyone else (other than Fitz). Pledger needs to run the 2 and not point. Cam isn't cutting it right now, I can see him being a great athletic boost off of the bench. I would rather have Neal in there than Cam right now. Neal is going to put up some points, the kid can shoot. He has done a pretty good job boarding up and playing D. Bring CJ off of the bench. Thompson needs some minutes but he has to start producing and show he is capable against decent competition. It honestly wouldn't bother me at all if Honore didn't see more than 5 minutes. He hasn't shown me anything down low that warrants taking minutes from CJ. His hands just aren't there right now and gets beat down low against a good low post player. These are just my observations as of now, not saying they're right, just what I would like to see.

This.

And Cade HAS to guard Rotnie Clarke. He showed last year that he can shut him down and I think he's the only one good enough and willing to do so.

I like both of the proposed lineups. However, I would probably go with Bigtime's lineup. At least until someone clearly separated themselves, I would rotate Newell and Blair at point, and rotate Pledger, Clark and Cade at the wings, and Fitz, Neal, CJ and Nick in the paint. I like set rotations instead of ad hoc substitutions. However, it seems to me Jeff wants to just play the hot hand. Something to be said for this as well.

In any event, I would give minutes to all the above kids and get them ready for next year.

Blair
Cade
Pledge
CJ
Fitz

Newell is not yet ready to run the show and CJ gives us more toughness and rebounding than Neal or Captain Hot Sauce right now

Blair
Cade
Clark
Thompson
Fitz

Pledger should feel more comfortable coming off the bench temporarily and he, Newell and Washington will provide energy off the bench. With Neal getting a little PT as well.

not joking here. capel needs to make a stand

franklin
cade
neal
honore
washington

he can go back to a normal lineup a few minutes in but he needs to play some "scrubs" to make a stand to the normal lineup

What would that prove? Play crappy and we will sit you out 2 minutes... That's hardly incentive to improve play. That would just have everyone calling for Capel's head even more.

Quannas White
Hollis Price
Ebi Ere
Taj Gray
Blake Griffin

ive seen coaches do it and it works. maybe more than 2 mins

Pledge is shooting 34% from the field and 25% from 3 point land. GET THE ROCK IN HIS HANDS!

Clark might nor be as confident with his offensive game, but at least he takes smarter shots (44% and 33%).

What stand can Capel make?
The problems with this team lies more with the coaching staff then with the players themselves. If he does that then he putting the blame on the team and out of his hands, count me as not being a fan of that.

Idk the starting lineup, but hate the rotating patterns.

I'd still go

Newell
Cade
Cam
Neal
Fitz

Get these guys ready for next year whether the coaches are here or not.

Q white = 1
M. Blaylock = 2
N. Erdmann = 3
W. Tisdale = 4
B. Griffin = 5

S. King = Backup 5
H. Grant = backup 4
R. Minor = backup 3
H. Price = backup 2
C. Brewer = backup 1

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention my third team:

Alvin Adams = 5
Ace McGee = 4
Anthony Bowie = 3/2
Skeeter Henry = 3/2
Ray Whitley = 1

The "3" was the hardest player to pick. Went with Erdmann on the first team because of the "3s", he seemed to have the fewest weaknesses. I put Minor on the 2nd team even though he couldn't defend most athletic wings today. I thought about both Bowie and Henry for 1st or 2nd team, but went with Erdmann because I thought he would mesh best with the others on the 1st team. I would like my first team against about any other universities 1st team. Man that would be a good team. Unbelievable defensively on the perimeter, great on the glass, and offensively balanced.
