While the 2018 NCAA Tournament is winding down, Tulsa is gearing up for next year’s edition of March Madness.
In anticipation of the BOK Center hosting first- and second-round games March 22 and 24, members of the planning committee attended this month’s NCAA Tournament games in Wichita, Kansas.
“Bench-marking the execution of NCAA championships in other cities helps us to proactively prepare for future NCAA basketball championships in Tulsa,” said Vince Trinidad, executive director of the Tulsa Sports Commission. “Tulsa competes against many cities across the country for top-tier championships, and as an organizing committee, we work very hard to make sure we are implementing best practices in a way that’s uniquely Tulsa.”
Tulsa landed the 2019 event a month after hosting the first and second round last year, and the BOK Center also was a tournament site in 2011. Tulsa won’t host again until at least 2023, when the next bid cycle begins.
