We are 16 in the current rankings. Northwestern is 42, and under the metric used by the NCAA, a road win against them would be very helpful down the line. They don't have the same reputation as some of the teams we have already beaten, but this would actually be our best win to date if we can pull it off. They are one spot ahead of North Texas, who still hasn't lost to anyone other than OU. I watched a bit of Northwestern on Monday night, they had a very small crowd (albeit against a very weak opponent). Hopefully this time we will benefit from students being on break.

If you told me 10-1 going into our last non-con game before the season...I would have called ya crazy.

The only hype I'm buying is the guys bust their asses off on def...which is nice.

Northwestern, at least according to the other advanced metrics (Kenpom, Torvik, Sagarin), is slightly behind Florida and fairly equal with Creighton. They are a totally different team than Creighton though (worse offense, better defense). It will be a tough game especially it being on the road. Less turnovers and make your FTs.....pretty please.

We play Vanderbilt in that Big 12-SEC challenge sometime in February.
