New Commit!

That will make our roster 12 deep next year. She is a nice addition.

I'm sure she's a great addition at PG.

But really this roster needs post players in the worst way.

I agree with atlantasooner. Baylor will have three players 6'4" or better next year. And ISU really exploited their size over OU three times last season. A couple of bigs would really help.

I agree. But, It's nice to have Some post to rebound
And all but your guard play is going to get you back
To the final 4. You could never have to many guards.
Athletic ones at that.
You all have to think of the old Sherri, other than the
Paris twins and Olajuwon, Sherri loved her Some Guard play!!
That's what got her to Her first Final 4.
2nd Paris Twins
3rd-GUARD play. Olajuwon did her Role. Rebound and Score
When needed. Drob, Stevenson,Thompson carried them.
Guard play guard play guard play. You can never have enough.

Just some consideration:

Connecticut has a center---Dolson. Stewart, a superb freshman, might also end up at center. The rest of the team is really a bunch of guards.

Notre Dame has one player that is 6-3, 6-2, and 6-1. The rest are a bunch of guards. They are 3-0 against UConn this year. We'll see how the semifinals go.

Louisville has a player that they call a center. She starts most games, has averaged about 4 points and 2.7 rebounds. The rest of the team is a bunch of guards.

California does have some size. They have a bunch of players about 6-2 or 6-3. None taller. Talia Caldwell (didn't we recruit her?) is listed as a center but plays more like a power forward. The top teams, other than UConn, simply don't have real centers. They do have guards, people who can handle the ball and make things happen.

I'm not encouraged by our commit's size so far. I would prefer some 6'3+ black belts with brains, great nurturers and mean dispositions.

Yeah, if another Vegas comes along I don't want to sign her.

I'm confident that if Sherri thought she had the slightest chance to sign another Aaryn, she would not have signed all of the guards she's signed.

I agree with others, we have got to have bigs.

I agree. I just don't think that up until now signing guards has kept us from signing bigs. It's something else.

I"m not saying Sherri needs to sign some 6-6 stiffs.
Some super athletic 6-3 or 6-2 kids would be fine.

But Ton'a is 5-4. Wyatt is 5-10. Gioya is 5-9. Kellogg is 6-2.
4 ships, 3 under 6 foot. Not exactly a roster of big athletic wings.

To be clear, I'd knock Lon for the same kind of roster imbalance.
If M'Baye's open ship goes to a guard for instance.

You bet...I would love to have a Toni Young or two!

With the system Coale refuses to stray from no matter what the strengths/weaknesses are... I really like this commit. We need 3 ball handlers that are quick and athletic.

Agreed, doesn't have to be several 6'6" players, but look at the front page of OU Hoops, when our girls are together with the Tennessee girls, the TN girls dwarf us.

I hate it when we lose, not because of effort, but because we are playing against kids that are bigger and stronger.

Only reason OU lost to UT. OU didn't hit the shots like they did against UCLA. OU is going after 6-2 K Dunbar. More of a wing. I really liked the video of C Ricketts. To bad she is going to Tech. She would have been perfect for center. Juco has alot of 6-3 women for 2014.

I saw Edwards play live once, unbelievable athlete, basketball skills were good but not great.
