(From the ESPN article) said:Tournament MVP McKenna Treece, a Kansas State signee, was instrumental in the early surge as she connected on numerous mid-range jumpers.
“McKenna Treece is a strong, physical presence in the post with a solid foundation of fundamental post moves and great hands,” said Patterson about her new forward. “She runs hard and well, she is a terrific post passer, and has range to the 3-point line. McKenna brings a strength element to our post game that is a strong need in our program. McKenna and Shaelyn both have the potential to impact our program immediately.”
A misprint? or did they mean to say a KSU commitment?
What I found interesting upthread was that Patterson (presumably the KSU coach) was commenting on Treece: (from a K-State website, posted upthread by Sybarite).
If the quote above is accurate about an unsigned player, Patterson violated an NCAA rule that states that coaches cannot comment about players until after they are signed.
So what is it? Was Treece signed, and backed out and now committed to OU? what's the word?
I predict Kay Kay has a fantastic year if she takes it upon herself to get better and not wait for coaching. She needs to be in better shape and watch her fouling. The thing is she was playing on a team that did not play to its capabilities..........for whatever reason. That had to affect all the players, including Kay Kay. She wasn't the only one making stupid fouls. I agree that Gibbs should be coached and developed, because I think she has the inherent ability to be very good. I do not think it will happen.
It may not be "official" from the OU end of it, but Washburn already has their fall 2014 roster up on the web, and Gibbs is on it.Gibbs departure has no official notice to it.
We're just going off rather specific language in a Facebook post.
