I need a "Im not sure button." Honestly, I am 50/50. Not sure firing him doesnt actually make us worse next year, yet, at the same time if we are gonna suck might as well suck with some new buzz going on.

Yes. The intelligent fans have spoken. We will find out just how smart Joe C is in the next few days. I am more of a fence sitter by nature. lol
 
The ship is leaving port, too much smoke. Lets get this over with. The recruiting implications are too high to let this go on much further. We need an announcement ASAP, either way.
 
At this point, you can't bring him back because everybody will know he has 1 year left and then he's gone because they aren't going to advance to the NCAA tourney next year with this bunch. Recruiting will bomb and morale will be even lower.

Come on Joe, go ahead and make the move and let both parties go their own way.

Btw -- I agree with the posters who think Capels party broke this to the press to force joes hand. That sounds more plausible as I think about it.

We may not agree on much, but this makes about as much sense as any other theory. Joe C not making any public comments certainly doesn't seem to work in Jeff's favor, and Coach may have had enough.

I voted for Jeff to be retained for next season, but will certainly support whatever decision is made.
 
Capels party? Are there really people suggesting that Coach Capel has a camp or a party that break things to the press like some celebrity or professional athlete? Might be the most outlandish thing I've heard on this board and thats saying a lot with all the speculation people are putting out there. Please, if you don't have any solid information or straight up facts save your time and energy. Having your opinion is one thing but throwing a wrench into everything just to shake things up because you want something to work in your favor is just silly.

I agree with everything you said. Capel needs to go and hopefully the day after we lose in the tourney.

Well, what should we expect from such an excellent coach? Why, an excellent record like that!!

The OU basketball program has become a joke under Coach Capel. But it is not funny.
