Welcome to the sooner family, I think if she can stay healthy she'll help the team a lot...
Are we sure she has to sit out a year. Might Kentucky release her and she could play sooner. I am fuzzy on the rules.
Anyone know how well Rich has recovered from her knee problem. She had a brace on the knee in the highlight tape I saw and looked very quick.
If we can keep Llanusa and land Murcer all we need is a couple of bigs to go with Mulkey and we can be a possible final four team again.
When I was coaching at Star-Spencer we played against Murcer who was playing for Southeast High School. He and another good shooter went off on us at Southeast and we lost in overtime. So when they came to our place I had prepared a triangle and two defense to better control Murcer and his sidekick. Before the game Brooks Mosier, the Southeast coach told me about a game earlier in the week where they had tried a crazy triangel and two on them and supposedly it didn't work. I stuck to the triangle and two. We controlled their shooters and beat them by around 20 points. We controlled their shooters for the first half but Murcer went off on us and had a good second half. I have always wondered if old Brooks was trying to con me out of using a junk defense against him.
I'm confused about the discussion of "Murcer" in response to word about a transfer named Rich.
What is the connection you are suggesting?
not sure if it has been posted, but Rich left Kentucky because she was never cleared to practice...

Bobby murcer was a great high school athelete who graduated high school from southeast about 1963. He was a major league baseball player for years, supposedly a wonderful person and the great Uncle of present westmoore highschool player Jessi Murcer-Sophomore?
The only reason I kept this straight is I have been a bobby murcer fan since he made all state in 2 or 3 sports in highschool, then signed with the New York Yankees.
Bobby was also the radio voice of the Yankees for 20 or so years - up until near the end of his life. He was a friend of my parents - and visiting his home was like being in a Yankee museum. Unfortunately he had a brain tumor and passed away a few years ago. At his funeral, which was held in North OKC - near Edmond - virtually the entire Yankee team attended. Our family has always been Yankee fans so as sad as we were to see him die, the funeral was a great celebration of a life very well lived. Even one of America's greatest astronauts spoke that day. Bobby was well loved in New York - and in Oklahoma. His wife is also a wonderful person. An athletic training center has been built at Sherri's alma mater (OC) dedicated to and named after Bobby Murcer.
You are exactly right about him being a wonderful person. We have known a number of famous people, but not a single one was as kind, respectful, and friendly to everyone as Bobby. Even while dealing with cancer he stayed a perfect gentleman - never complaining or acting bitter. Truly a life well lived. All of us can learn a lesson from this great man.
It would be great if Jessi receives an offer and eventually plays at OU.
Does OU have a ship available?
