very insightful information on one of the wrap up shows i watched last night. he has gotten better every year he's been on the air, and his radio show is always entertaining.

good stuff by Doug.

he is quickly becoming the Kirk Herbstreit of the college basketball world

Doug's a good dude. He's one of those guys that is really good at what he does, but before he got there, I would have never guessed he would have been one of the ones that "made it"

The best is when they have the Dukie J-Will up there with him...he has no idea what he's talking about so he just agrees with everything Doug says.

Networks are going overboard with employing former players as their analysts, most of these guys aren't very good...and not just in CBB.

I agree...Doug's analysis and picks throughout today have been great, making me rethink a lot of my picks...a lot of analysts i have been listening to yest and today pretty much contradict everything they say but Doug has been very consistent...

He is a true student of the game...

What has he been saying? Haven't been able to catch any analysis since the bracket was unveiled.

That's what seperates Doug from the rest of them... the dude has been an absoulte basketball junkie for his whole life.

And he's like a freakin' basketball encyclopedia when it comes to both the NCAA and NBA.

ESPN could move him over to an NBA analyst job and he wouldn't miss a beat.

he also dresses like Pat Riley from back in the day

Yep, the guy has more info about every freaking team than any person I've ever seen. My close second is Fran. I think he does the same in that you can tell he watches a lot of teams play and can actually remember players, matchups, and even plays they run against certain teams.

They remind me of the difference between good poker players and the best pros who can remember hands, bets, and all kinds of other things from years in the past.

I have been to about 7 Final Fours. I have seen Troy Aikman, Peyton Manning, numerous college coaches and analysts. I have only been big timed by one person.....

Studio commentary suits him because we have no way of knowing for sure if he has his pants on the right way or not.

Sorry dyner, I did not see the no jokes allowed here disclaimer. Gonna need you to delete that from the thread title so my previous post fits the parameters of this thread. Thanks in advance for your help.
