No men's updates at the women's game?

I went to Fort Worth for the men's game, which started and ended around the same time that the women's game did. I was able to pickup the somewhat faint signal of KOKC (1520-AM) on I-820, so I heard the final score and part of the OU post game. But when I called my folks on the cell - who had been at the OU-KSU women's game - to see if they knew the men's score, they hadn't heard it.

I know they don't give "scoreboard updates" on the rest of the country, for the other gender's games. But they really should update the OU scores if they're playing at the same time. I also remember the first time one of Sherri's teams won in Lubbock that they did post that score on the scoreboard, and it got a big ovation, back around 2001.

There's no real good reason for not at least having score updates on whichever OU team is on the road, when the other is playing at home. Many of us are big-time fans of both OU basketball teams.

They used to, for some reason they don't really use the board to his best potential in my humble opinion.

I've noticed that, too. It's irritating for those of us who try to keep up with both teams.

I had my ESPN app up during the women's game to keep track of them men's. They've turned the scoreboard into a big advertisement so and there's no money in score updates for anyone.

We have a men's team too? Just kidding. I also have season tickets to the men's games.

One thing that used to frustrate me was they would keep updating the men's score until maybe 2-3 minutes were left in the men's game - then no more updates. Why in the world???

Forgive TCU -- they're using substitute facilities while awaiting renovations or whatever. Maybe next year's game will have fully interactive features that allow you to ignore the game you're attending, an added benefit for TCU fans who don't seem to care about their basketball teams ;)

You want whoever runs the scoreboard at OU women's games to actually post up-to-the minute scores for the OU men's games being played away? My gosh that's a lot to expect of a scoreboard crew who went until about 2 games back before they finally noticed and removed the seemingly permanent 10 points attributed to #35 Thomas. Uh, there's no #35 on the women's team or any player by the last name of Thomas. Since there is a Thomas who wears #35 on the men's team, I'm assuming that somehow got put up there and either could not easily be removed or else I'm the only one in the LNC who tried to add up the women's points and kept coming up with 10 points more than was being shown in the team's score.

There is obviously a new commercial software package in place to run the video board this year. I don't know its capabilities, but there is always a learning curve with a new system. I just hope OU has someone who can figure out how best to use those features, the quicker the better.

I think he just wants occasional updates with the score. I would be happy if the PA announcer gave the update on the other team's score once in a while.

I've noticed the same thing you are talking about. There was one game I attended where there were no stats in the first half.

There are a lot more bells and whistles with the new software, but not a lot of good information. If I ran the scoreboard world, we would always be able to find the current player stats (fouls & points) on the main board and we would still have the 'Hustle Stats" on the boards in the corner.

I agree. Scoreboard is much better about putting up ads than BB information. Wish they would realize we are fans who are interested in the game, and give us live scores and stats.
And I don't think they have anybody that knows basketball reading what they put up because there are mistakes like Thomas 10 pts on more than one occasion. And TO's aren't included in individual stats.

And during the last game they had not only Thomas's points up there, but also Lattin's for a while .

Good Grief!!!
