Games that have become known so far

Coppin State
Maui Invitational (haven't seen a bracket but teams in it, Kentucky, Connecticut, Washington, Michigan St, Virginia, Wichita St and Chaminade)
Cincinnati (Ford Center)
Central Arkansas
at Arizona (PAC 10 challenge)
ORU
at Arkansas

9 total so far

We have 9 non conference games counted for the upcoming season (that I can come up with off the top of my head plus help from others, appreciate it). We had 14 total this past season so I would expect about 5-6 more true cup cakes with 1-2 fellow BCS conference opponents or perhaps good midmajors to round out the schedule.

I think this is the last year of the four-year deal against Arkansas, and we'll play in Fayetteville.

I'm probably the most optimistic OU fan out there aside from Faithful Sooner, but I'm not looking forward to these games. Yikes!

Yea hopefully we avoid Michigan State, they should be the consensus preseason #1.

I'd rather not avoid anyone. Few things will tell you where you are better than a good a$$-whoopin. You coach up the strengths that you have at the time and then take the good parts of the game and use those as building blocks for the rest of the season.

Sorry to ramble...but the point is I see nothing but opportunity in playing the #1 team. A win-win for us.

Until the team proves me otherwise I'm gonna say lets play Michigan State and shock the world

I'm excited about this upcoming year. Hopefully we get Cal and Cam because I view them as the cornerstones of the program. I don't care who we play as long as its good basketball.

This is funny since the reason I decided to start this thread was because that news came out and I forgot to add ORU to the schedule. SMH.

That it is, not sure why I forgot this info as well.

I completely agree Coolm.

Until we lose!

In all seriousness, if there was ever a preseason I want us to play the sisters of the poor non-conference, this is the one.

Even if we lose so what? This isn't college football where one loss dooms your national title hope. This team is going to lose some games this year, we might as well get the best experience possible by taking on the best.

I just hope that this team can do a better job of rebuilding shattered confidence, than last year's team.

Playing a MSU you a losing a tough game will build confidence, Losing to San Diego State and Houston in Alaka shatters it

Fair point. I would rather be 1-0 though.

I just call it like I see it. :)

Even I think that is a murder's row schedule, but that's why you play the games. We don't know how our team will come together. If we can just get back to playing fundamentally sound basketball. We might be able to beat some of these teams in the invitational. Let's see what happens. BOOMER SOONER BABY!!!:clap

Agree with Coolm, great post.

OU should have a tough schedule every year, I want to know how good the team is. I'd rather know how good OU is rather than play an easy schedule and have false hope. I've always liked how Michigan State is not afraid to play anyone.
