Northwestern LA

This is just my take, but it looks like Whitney is now firmly at the 4 position, and Joanna is going to back up both the 5 and 4. Portia looks to me like she's not going to be a key player this year, though she was showing a little nose for the ball late. The player that's not taking advantage of opportunity is Sharane. She sure didn't show much when she was in. She really looks like she's suffering a crisis of confidence. Not good decision making at all, and where has her shot gone?

Huge compliment from Billy Tubbs about Nicole G.: "She is the most improved player that I have seen on any level from one year...from last year to right now." I sure hope it persists throughout Big 12 play.

IDK. What set her apart last year - IMO - is that she was willing to play hard and stick her nose in there and battle. At times she was our best inside player. Her drives got her baskets and FT and she was a terrific offensive rebounder. Hopefully she is able to right the ship but if it is confidence that's a hard thing to just get back.

I thought the girls really stepped it up in the second half. They are beginning to get that killer instinct that has been missing and keeping their "boots" on the throats of their opponents. Regardless of the experience level of the opponent.

I have to agree about Portia. Still unsure of her self and plays like a Juco player. She played better late in the game. Maybe it won't be too long before the light goes on for her. Hope we can stay healthy the rest of the way.
