Notre Dame opens this season with 7 straight Home games

advantage: OU

Exactly. And a big benefit to playing those first two road games, for all the people who were so upset that we scheduled those games. There is a reason Lon schedules the way he does. If we lose to ND, it won't be because we aren't tested going into the game.

spot on. I see a very concerted effort by coach lon to focus on defense and playing on floors other than home is certainly one way to stress that. shooting percentages come and go but defensive effort is within our control.

Absolutely right.

Madison Square Garden will also be a home game for them much like it is for Dook when they play there.

Disagree.. every home game you don't schedule you are robbing the students and local fans.

Good teams win regardless of venue.

you do realize that a great majority of OU men's basketball fans never go to a game right?

thus your answer here only positively affects a very small percentage of the fans while the neutral and hostile courts help the entire program get ready and succeed.

I just can't believe you think Lon's primary concern should be placating fans rather than preparing his team. Especially when the LNC is 75% empty for November and December games. We have a tiny student section and can't even fill that.

What was attendance for the Wofford game? Didn't see it listed.

Amazingly, OU's cumulative season stat sheet shows PAID attendance to have been 8432. See Link:

As you point out, no ACTUAL (estimated) attendance figure is reported on the Wofford game stat sheet at the OU site. However, the stat sheet at the Wofford site lists the estimated actual attendance at 4502.

How good is ND this year? I saw they haven’t really played anyone yet and they lost to Radford but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything with regard to our game.

On the schedule debate, I’ve always thought OU should schedule early road games because you want your team battle tested but also because early season basketball attendance at OU has always been awful. OU should schedule good road games early and schedule the meaningful home games after New Years.
